 “MY FIRST TRADITIONAL DANCE PERFOMANCE IN PUBLIC”

When I was in High School, I followed extracurricular traditional dance “Ratoh Jaroe” or
usually called “Saman”. I took part in the extracurricular because previously I was inspired by one
of the event. In this event, their perfomances were very good. So I wanted to be like those who can
performed well.

For this reason, every time I do extracurricular training I always serious and enjoyed it. When
learned this dance, of course many experienced difficulties in memorizing and match the dance
moves with my other friends. And to memorize and match all the movements me and my friends
completed it within 6 to 7 months.

When my friens and I had been learned this dance for 1 year, we were going to do a
competition. We preared the best for this competition, but this competition was cancelled because
of the Covid at that time. My friends and I was of course very sad, because we had previously
prepared everything for this competition.

Then after Covid is gone, my school will hold an extracurricular demostration. At this event,
my friends and I will perfomed our dance. On the occasion of my first perfomance, I wanted to
performed well. But because this was my first perfomances, I were very nervous. I’m afraid that
when I performed, my movements will be wrong. Because surely many people will watched our
performance. And when My friends and I perfomed, I was very nervous and when I’m on stage I
only focus on one point because if I looked at the audience I will lost focus.

But luckily when performed I didn’t made a mistake. My friends and I performed well. This
experienced was an impressive thing for me, because this is my first time doing this in public.
Until now, when there is a job offered to performed this dance with my school friends, I wanted
to do it and I am very happy to do it.
