Bud Family– Frog Crochet Pattern

Pattern Details
Size:
The finished frog stands approx. 7 cm, 2.76 inches tall (Bean sprout and
the stem part not included). Certainly, the thinner yarn you use, the
smaller the doll will be.

Skill Level Needed:


Joined rounds: Connect the head and the end of the round with a slip
stitch, and start each round with 1 ch as the standing stitch.

Materials Needed:
Edelweiss yarn #2: bud green #22 (one ball); white #01 (5 grams)
4-ply milk cotton: mustard green #25 (5 grams); light coffee #31 (20 cm)
Four 6 mm black flat bottoms Filling cotton (10 grams)
safety eyes Yarn needle
One golden lobster key chain Stitch marker
One imitation pearl bracelet Alcohol glue
A circular pink non-woven fabric 2.0 mm crochet hook
with a diameter of 4 cm

Abbreviations (American terms)


ch = chain dc = double crochet stitch
dec = decrease: work 2 sc tr = triple crochet
together htr = half triple crochet
inc = increase: work 2 sc in same BLO = back loops only
st FLO = front loops only
st(s) = stitch(es) sl = slip stitch
sc = single crochet stitch hdc = half double crochet
Notes:
 It is necessary to remember the starting position of the first needle
with a stitch marker or thread head in the process of hooking for
counting.
 Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.
 All stitches are worked in both loops unless stated otherwise in the
pattern.
 The beginning and end of the thread can be hidden in stitches or
stuffing. You can also knot the thread as long as it does not affect the
appearance
 Except for the parts where the stitching position is especially
emphasized, please stitch the other parts to the place you think
suitable.

Frog
Head & Body (joined rounds)
Use Edelweiss bud green yarn Round 12: 9 sc, (sc, inc) x 4, 6 sc,
Round 1: 8 sc in a magic ring = 8 (inc, sc) x 4, 9 sc = 48
Round 2: 8 inc = 16 Round 13-16: 48 sc = 48
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 8 = 24 Round 17: 9 sc, (sc, dec) x 4, 6 sc,
Round 4: (sc, inc, sc) x 8 = 32 (dec, sc) x 4, 9 sc = 40
Round 5: 32 sc = 32 Round 18: (3 sc, dec) x 8 = 32
Round 6: (3 sc, inc) x 8 = 40 Round 19: (sc, dec, sc) x 8 = 24
Round 7-11: 40 sc = 40 Round 20: 12 dec = 12

Fasten off, and weave in the end.
Note: Round 1-20 is the head, Round 21-29 is the body; the two (sc, inc)
x 4 in the round 12 correspond to the both sides of the front of the face,
and the 6 sc correspond to the center of the front of the main body.

Belly (joined rounds)


Use Edelweiss white yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6 Round 2: 6 inc = 12
Fasten off, leave a 15 cm tail, and sew the front of the belly outward
between rounds 23 and 26 on the front of the main body.

Leg x 2 (joined rounds)


Use Edelweiss bud green yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6 Round 2: 6 sc = 6
Fasten off, leave a 15 cm tail, no need to stuff, sew the round 2 of two
legs separately to the symmetrical position between rounds 28 and 29 at
the bottom of the main body.
Arm x 2 (joined rounds)
Use Edelweiss bud green yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6
Round 2-6: 6 sc = 6
Fasten off, leave a 15 cm tail, no need stuffing, flatten the opening of two
arms and sew them separately between rounds 20 and 21 of the main
body, the symmetrical position of the two body sides.

Eye x 2 (joined rounds)


Use Edelweiss white yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6
Round 2: 6 inc = 12
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 6 = 18
Use Edelweiss bud green yarn
Round 4-6: 18 sc = 18
Round 7: (sc, dec) x 6, stuff it = 12
Round 8: 6 dec = 6
Fasten off, leave a 15 cm tail, put the white part of the two eyes face
forward, sew them separately to the symmetrical position between
rounds 6 and 11 at the top of the head.
Tail (joined rounds)
Use Edelweiss bud green yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6
Round 2-3: 6 sc = 6
Break yarn, leave a 15 cm tail, no need to stuff, and sew the tail
between rounds 25 and 27 right on the back of the main body.
Expression
Mouth: Use 4-ply milk cotton, take 1-ply light coffee yarn, sew the mouth
between rounds 14 and 15 in the center of the front of the main body, the
mouth is 3 sc wide, one and a half rows tall, pick some glue to fix the
shape with the needle tip;
Eyeballs: Stick them to the inside of the white eyes ;above the two sides
of the mouth, between rounds 11 and 13 of the head, the nearest
distance between two eyes is lateral 6 sc;
Cheeks: Cut two 1 cm diameter circles with pink non-woven fabric, stick
them separately under the outside of the eyes, between rounds 13 and
15, and the nearest distance between the two cheeks is lateral 11 sc;

Bean sprout petal x 2 (joined rounds)


Use 4-ply milk cotton mustard green yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6
Round 2: (sc, inc) x 3 = 9
Round 3-5: 9 sc, stuff it = 9
Round 6: (sc, dec) x 3 = 6
Break yarn, leave a 15 cm tail, use the thread tail of the one petal, sew
together the rounds 6 of the two bean sprout petals when they are
placed next to each other, making the shape of bean sprouts;
Leave a line, sew the petals in round 1, right in the center of the top of
the head, leave a 4 cm tail between the petals and main body as the
bean sprout stem, weave in the remaining thread tail.
