Professor

Dear Dean Sol and Dr. Angel:

The undersigned are students of 3B Commercial Laws II (Tuesday, 5:00-9:00 PM)

under Dr. Angela Ylagan. We are writing to respectfully request for the conduct of online
classes until the midterms of this semester (August 22 to October 17, 2023).

During the first session for this subject, it was raised that the majority of the students
have concerns relative to transitioning to an in-person mode of learning. All seven (7)
enrolled students have full time work outside of Makati City. Four (4) students are
residents of nearby provinces, i.e., Cavite and Bulacan, while two (3) students are
residing in the northern part of Metro Manila. The travel time of these students from their
residences or workplaces to LPU COL Makati takes an average of 1.5 to 2 hours
depending on weather and traffic conditions. Given that the classes for the subject
begin at 5:00 PM, they would have to take time off from work much earlier than usual in
order to attend the class on time.

It is understood that the school has announced the implementation of full face-to-face
classes beginning this school year AY 2023-2024. While we pose no objection to this
announcement which, as we are well aware, is pursuant to LEB Memorandum Circular
No. 30, we humbly request for concession so we can adequately prepare and adjust to
this set up.
Should the honorable Dean approve this request for the conduct of online/hybrid
learning modalities, the period between now until the midterm examinations shall be
utilized by the students to facilitate travel and/or housing arrangements. At this time,
some students are still making arrangements to move into dormitories or rental houses
in order to be nearer the university and avoid the long travel time, so that the time saved
for commuting may still be utilized to study and prepare for our classes. Hence, it is
ensured that after the midterms, the students shall be ready to fully comply with the
implementation of in-person classes.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this request.

Sincerely yours,

Daniel Angelo R. De Guzman Noel Malgar A. Galang
