WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2023 2023 TVL PARENTS AND

STUDENTS’ ORIENTATION

The 2023 Technical Vocational and Livelihood (TVL) Parents and Students
Orientation was held this day in front of Building 20 with the theme, “Work Immersion
Program Beyond the range”. Every TVL student of Dasmariñas Integrated High School
was asked to attend along with their parents. We arrived at 7:00 wearing our FBS
uniforms and were asked to be organized and fall in line before the orientation starts.
We were commended as very good by Mr. Wilson Centeno because we wore our
complete uniforms. TVL teachers discussed about work immersion program and NCII in
their perspective strands along with the video presentations. Unfortunately, we didn’t get
to understand most of what was being discussed because the sound system was poor
and we were distracted by the heat outside. But thankfully, there was another orientation
in classrooms that day. There, it was discussed how important it is to have a national
certificate, its advantages when applying for a job especially if we are planning to go
abroad. The fees to be paid was also discussed, so that those who will take the
assessments will be prepared financially.

MONDAY, MARCH 13, 2023 CAREER ORIENTATION PROGRAM JOB

PROCESS

The Career Orientation Program Job Process was held at the school Library.
Every Grade 12 CBF student was scheduled at 10:00am but we were asked to be there
at 8:00am for us to have time in organizing our seats before the orientation starts. The
resource speaker presented and discussed some tips for us before entering the world of
employment. She told us the importance of knowing our strengths and weaknesses
because it will be very helpful in choosing what job and company we are applying to.
She gave important factors when being interviewed, writing cover letters, and resumes. I
felt sorry for our speaker, she gave her time and effort for us but a lot of students are not
listening and some are even sleeping. Her discussion was very helpful and informative
especially that time we were about to be deployed in different companies. Also,
employment is one of our exits in senior high school, so we really needed that. Mr.
Wilson Centeno, also gave his remarks and reminded us how important it is to have
national certificates in applying for a job. He also told us that the NCII symbolizes that
we are capable students.

DISCUSSION OF RESOURCE SPEAKER

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 2023 DAY 1: FBS INSTITUTIONAL

ASSESSMENT

We had our Food & Beverages Services (FBS) Institutional Assessment for our
upcoming assessment on April 4, 2023 at Bernardo College. I was in batch 12 and we
were scheduled to start at exactly 11:00am. I arrived earlier at 10:15am and started
immediately. We were with other students from CBF 12-H and were assisted by our
fellow CBF students from 12-C who already passed the assessment. We focused on
practicing 6 components: table reservation, welcoming of guest, sequence of service,
room service, table set-up, and table napkin folding. I asked them how the system works
there, the flow happening in the assessment center. We were given important tips and
details. Ma’am Arlene Carranza told us that during oral recitation, we must never say
that “we don’t know” because those were the words said by the students who failed the
assessment. We were also asked to review and prepare when we go home.

MONDAY, APRIL 24, 2023 DAY 2: FBS INSTITUTIONAL ASSESSMENT

It was our Day 2 of FBS institutional assessment and we were scheduled to start
at 6:00am. Unfortunately, Mrs. Cariño had to deploy her students for work immersion
and the FBS laboratory was occupied during that time that is why we started late. I
arrived at exactly 6:00am but we started at 11:00am. We were asked to not wear our
FBS uniform since we need to use it for the assessment the following day. We practiced
again the things we did on day 1, all of the 6 components. I focused on the table napkin
folding since I am already confident in my skills on the other 5. I can’t beat the time of 2
minutes in doing 10 different fold and always finish at around 3 minutes. Thankfully, my
batch mate from CBF 12-H gave me tips on how to do it faster. I am amazed because
she really does it fast. After a lot of minutes, I was close to finishing 2 minutes. I
practiced and practiced and finally, get to beat the time limit. We finished at 3:00 pm and
were told just rest our bodies and minds and to pray for us to pray for us to get that
competent remark.

TUESDAY, APRIL 2, 2023 ASSESSMENT FOR FBS NATIONAL

CERTIFICATE II

It was the day for our assessment and we were asked to meet in front of NCST at
exactly 4:30am to avoid the surge of commuters and to arrive early at the assessment
center. With that said some of my classmates came late and arrived at 5:15 am. We
arrived at Bernardo College at 7:00 am, but the assessor was late and we started at
11:00am. I didn’t feel nervous, in fact, I was excited because I was really confident that I
will do well and I did. I remembered everything we practiced and performed fluidly
during the assessment. I also answered every question during the oral recitation
correctly. There were some things during our assessment that wasn’t included in our
institutional, like how the assessor asked me to do a French Table d’ Hote table set-up
when there isn’t one but I still managed. Thankfully, everyone in our batch passed and
were remarked competent. It felt really fulfilling knowing that I am capable.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 24, 2023 COOKERY INSTITUTIONAL

ASSESSMENT

Today was our institutional assessment for cookery and we were scheduled to
cook at 6:00-8:00am. I arrived 2 minutes late, but we still managed to prepare fast. I was
agitated because Joyce, my group mate, was late and most of our ingredients was with
her, she came 7 minutes late. First, we were asked to make 4x4 appetizers and dessert.
Ma’am Murcia commended that we shouldn’t be repetitive and not all appetizers need
skewers. She also told us to be mindful of the portion size of our dessert. Next, we did
open-faced egg sandwich with potato chips, and crab roll salad. We were commended
that during the assessment we must use hot, cold, or wrap sandwiches instead of
openfaced. She also told us that our crab roll salad, falls into petit salad which is
considered as an appetizer. Lastly, we proceeded on our egg drop soup and blue plate.
We did chicken teriyaki, Chinese fried rice, and buttered green beans and carrots. Our
soup was too thick because we added too much egg. Our blue plate was good but we

were told to stack it next time, because that is the new way of plating dishes which adds
more appeal.
We managed to beat the time limit and Ma’am Murcia congratulated us for the good
work. Personally, the most important reminder she said is have a silent teamwork. I
shouldn’t be commanding them too loud because it will make them look weak. Our
output was brought to the principal’s office for them to taste.
