Date 02/05/2011 ‘Technical Specification Vertical Turbine Pumps Document N° NXSG-0000-50ET-003 1.0 GENERAL 1.1 Scope This specification prescribes the minimum requirements for furnishing labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, services, necessary to design, manufacture, assemble, test, packing and deliver vertical turbine pumps complete with motors, for the infrastructure area of Sierra Gorda Project. If there are conflicts between this specification and other documents, they shall be brought to the attention of the Buyer for clarification. Compliance with this specification does not relieve Pump Seller of the responsibility of furnishing pumps and accessories of proper design, electrically and mechanically suited to meet operating guarantees at the specified service conditions. Nor does it relieve Seller of the responsibility of furnishing equipment assembled and prepared for shipment in a professional manner. 1.2 Work Included The vertical turbine pumps shall be complete and ready for installation and operation, and shall include, but not be limited to, the following ©. The equipment installed outdoors shall be considered as unprotected from the weather and shall be suitable for dusty operating conditions, Pumps shall be designed for continuous operation 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and 98% availability. The head-capacity curves shall be continuously rising from maximum flow to shut-off. The pumps will be capable to operate in a continuous operation at any point from minimum flow to maximum flow. Motors shall be non-overloading at any point on that curve: The pumps will be located outdoor and will operate for heap leaching piping system. So the equipment shall be suitable for dusty (and corrosive in some areas) ambient conditions Pumps will be capable of meeting the operating conditions and performance requirements specified in the Pumps Data Sheets. The pumps shall operate at the specified speed ranges and speeds consistent with the specified head-capacity characteristics. Pumps for parallel operation will be identical 5.0 PRODUCT 5.1 General Requirements Pumps shall be manufacturer's standard design for the specified service and heavy-duty construction and it shall be constructed in order to meets all the specifications and attached Data Sheets requirements. Replacement parts for standard components shall be readily available. Pumps shall be open line shaft, vertical multistage turbine type. Except as specifically noted, all materials, design, fabrication, testing, and examination of the pumps shall be in accordance with the Hydraulic Institute Standards (HIS) for Centrifugal Pumps, latest edition, and ANSI/AWA Standard No, E101-88 for Vertical Turbine Pumps-Line Shaft and Submersible Types, and all other standards, codes and specifications referenced. The pump should be selected for operation near maximum efficiency if possible. The minimum drawdown level shall be as stated on the pump datasheet. Pump Seller shall include in Seller's quotation the minimum submergence required for the rated capacity. Also, the calculated submergence has to be compared with the NPSH required by the pump. Pump Seller is responsible for taking into account all losses to meet the guarantee point. Pumps shall have the rated capacity no greater than 110 percent of the capacity at the best efficiency point on the head capacity curve for the impeller diameter proposed. Pumps shall have the characteristic of continuously rising head with decreasing capacity from rated capacity to shutoff. Pumps with constant speed drivers shall have impeller diameters that allow at least a 5% increase in head at the rated capacity by installing a larger diameter impeller of the same pattern. On multi-stage pumps this requirement may be met by providing necessary case and shaft configuration to accept additional impellers or stages. The pump motor coupling shall be capable of transmitting the total torque and total thrust of the unit in either direction The pump design shall be non-overloading and Seller shall indicate on the equipment datasheets the minimum and maximum head and flow at which the pump can be continuously operated without maintenance problems or recirculation effect. Each pump and drive assembly shall be balanced and will not go through its critical speed while reaching the operating speed. The first critical speed shall be at least 20 percent above the maximum operating speed. Pumps with variable speed drives shall be designed to cover the required flow range for all indicated TDH range only adjusting the pump speed alone. Unless specified, Supplier shall determine type and lubrication of line bearings. Supplier shall provide fittings and piping necessary to accomplish desired bearing lubrication. Threaded parts shall be American National Standard. Tapped connections shall be protected by steel plugs. Wearing parts shall be easy accessible and replaceable with minimum disturbance of piping. Pump shall be supplied with lifting eyes at the top. ‘Supplier shall calculate pumps in accordance with field seismic conditions as specified in Standard Technical and Site Data Site N° NXSG-0000-55TS-001 Review and approval of Vendor data does not relieve the Vendor of the responsibility for accuracy, compliance with codes, specifications, standards, and other requirements. Supplier shall list instruments and protective devices and specify brand and model of each instrument to be furnished. Buyer reserves the option to specify the manufacturer of motors, instruments and controls so as to minimize spare parts inventory and maintenance costs. Also Supplier will select and supply Supplier with individual Equipment Numbers for all equipment. Seller shall use these Equipment Numbers in all documents for equipment tagging. Supplier shall submit with this quotation references (owners, their addresses and telephone numbers) of at least 3 facilities of similar sizes he has supplied recently. 5.2 Material Materials supplied shall be suitable for the duty, service, and operating conditions specified in data sheets and shall conform to ASTM specifications. Seller shall identify all parts by ASTM designation in the Proposal. All material shall be new, not previously used, and adequate for the purpose. Castings shall be sound, free from shrink or blow holes, scale, blisters and other similar defects. The surfaces shall be cleaned by Sellers standard methods. All casting burrs shall be filed or ground fiush with the surface of the casting. The repair of leaks and defects in pressure castings by the use of plastic or cement compounds is not acceptable. Material repair procedures shall be submitted to Purchaser for review and approval prior to proceeding with repairs For welding on parts subject to process pressure, welders and welding procedures shall be qualified in accordance Vendor's standards. 6de6 Nexus) @Q = MIneRA QUADRA CALE OA, ate: ozioaraot ‘Technical Specification Vertical Turbine Pumps Document N° NXSG-0000-S0ET-003 All materials shall be as specified in the attached datasheet. 5.3 Equipment 5.3.1 Pressure Casings Pressure casings shall be of such thickness suitable for the maximum discharge pressure at pumping temperature and hydrostatic test pressure at ambient temperature. Design stress and temperature restrictions for all materials shall be consistent with those limitations for similar materials as given in Section Vill, Division 1, of the ASME Code. Discharge connection shall be flanged, in accordance with ANS! B16.5. Pumps shall be provided with adapter flanges, if different of ANSI B16.5.Pump Bowl Assembly and Strainer. Bowl material shall be as specified on the datasheet. © The bowl assembly shall consist of the number of stages required to develop the total bow! head. © Bowls shall be flanged and fastened by means of studs and nuts or cap screws. ‘©. Impellers shall be securely fastened to the shaft with taper bushings or lock nuts and shall be adjustable by means of the coupling between the pump and driver. © Replaceable metallic bow! and impeller wear rings shall be provided, © Suction strainers shall be provided with each pump. Strainers shall be of heavy duty construction and shall be corrosion resistant to the liquid pumped. © Suction strainers shall have mesh openings 75 percent of the size of the smallest passage within the pump. The total suction area of the strainer shall be a minimum of 4 times the area of the suction inlet of the pump. © Bowls shall be designed for a pressure which is (as a minimum) equal to 1.1 times the shutoff of the pump at the maximum impeller diameter. © Bowl bearings shall be lubricated by the liquid being pumped unless otherwise specified on the datasheet. Size of the shaft shall be sufficient for the horsepower transmission Fequired by the pump at all allowable speeds. It shall be on one piece construction when feasible. © Ifalternate shaft diameters are available, the largest diameter shall be furnished. © Each bowl shall have an impeller seal ring to prevent slippage of fluid between bowl and impeller. 5.3.2 Discharge Pipe The pipe diameter shall be such that the velocity is not less than 1.2 m/s nor more than 4.6 mis (4 to 15 feet per second) 5.3.3 Impellers Impeller selection shall be for rated capacity and rated head. Impeller design shall not be either minimum or maximum impeller size. Maximum. and minimum impeller sizes shall be listed. The impellers shall be designed with a required NPSH as low as possible, to minimize requirements of submergence. First stage suction bell will be provided with an extra long bearing. Impellers having pulsating or surging capacities will not be acceptable. Impeller adjustment shall be accomplished by an adjustable coupling, Impellers shall be dynamically balanced with wear rings installed in according to vendor standard. Date 02/05/2011 ‘Technical Specification Vertical Turbine Pumps Document N° NXSG-0000-50ET-003 Enclosed impellers shall be furnished with replaceable wear rings. Impellers shall be keyed to the shaft. 5.3.4 Discharge Head The discharge head shall be of high strength fabricated alloy construction and shall be designed for above-ground flanged outlet. Flange facing shall be flat for both steel and iron, unless otherwise specified on the equipment datasheet. 5.3.5 Columns Column shall be of fianged construction with open line shaft unless otherwise specified on the datasheet. Bearings shall be supported by spiders for positive alignment at a maximum of 3 meter intervals. Line shaft shall be as specified on Data Sheet. Total deflection and run-out under maximum load, plus machining tolerances must be less than minimum internal clearances, permitting no internal rubbing contact 5.3.6 Bearings The bearings shall be mounted in bearing retainers which shall be held in position in the column couplings by means of the butted ends of the column pipes. Bearings will be antifriction type of the manufacturer's standard design, capable of 80,000 hours minimum AFBMA L-10 life in the specified service with continuous operation at maximum radial and axial loads, the maximum loads shall consider the pump variable speed 5.3.7 Shaft Seals Shaft seals will be packing gland type For toxic, corrosive, flammable solutions, or water above 72 degrees C services, the seal gland plate shall have a throttle bushing (0.64 mm) to restrict the flow to atmosphere in the event of seal failure. Grease fittings shall be of standard button head type with American National Taper Pipe Threads. 5.3.9 Drives Electric motors 150 kW (200 hp) and less shall be 575 V, 3-phase, 50 Hz in accordance with requirements indicated in the electrical specification “Low Voltage Induction Motors", NXSG-0000-65ET-002. Motors above 150 kW (201 hp) shall be 4000 V, 3-phase, 50 Hz in according to “Medium Voltage AC Induction Motors’, ASQM-TS-65-003-T. All motor shall have a 1.15 service factor. Vendor will be responsible for the complete assembly of the Motor-Coupling- Pump system Additionally, motor shall have the next characteristics: VSS High Thrust and Non Reverse Ratcheted, and shall meet the following: © Motors shall be properly derated for operation at 1.700 m.a.s.| © Motors to pump coupling shall be adjustable spacer type. ‘© When noted on Data Sheet, the motors will be feed from a variable speed device. The motors shall cover the indicated speed range properly. © Motor HP shall be sized for the maximum impeller size for the casing and the highest specific gravity fluid listed on datasheets. © The motor shall be supplied with two pieces of vibration sensor and transmitters er motor, for continuous vibration monitoring from the Buyer DCS system. The Buyer shall provide the alarm and shut down levels to be configured in the DCS. system © Motor shall include both bearing and winding RTD’s with terminal brought out to special connection terminal box. 10 de 10 SIERRA GORDA PROJECT NExus| @ Fo Ma QUADRA CHE tT, Date 02/05/2011 Technical Specification Vertical Turbine Pumps Document N° NXSG-0000-50ET-003 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE 6.1 General ‘Supplier shall be solely and entirely responsible for the process performance of the equipment and systems. Seller shall guarantee that the vertical turbine pumps will operate satisfactorily to the conditions and requirements of this specification and datasheet. Buyer reserves the right to witness any tests or inspections which he considers Necessary to ensure that components conform to Quality Assurance requirements. Seller shall notify Buyer in advance of all tests and grant free access to manufacturing facilities, including those of his sub-suppliers, for such inspections. Supplier shall supply Buyer with the complete list of documentation that Seller intends to produce for review. Such documents shall cover manufacturing, quality control, inspection procedures, deficiency evaluation and correction. Alll inspection reports shall be made available for inspection by the Buyer. All defects in excess of agreed acceptance criteria shall be reported immediately to Buyer by Seller and evaluated by Seller's engineering departments for possible corrective action. All corrections shall be subject to Buyer's approval. Supplier shall not substitute major component sub-suppliers after award of a Purchase Order without Buyer's approval. Seller shall assign an experienced project coordinator whose responsibility shall be to supervise all aspects of the work. 6.2 Qualifications Seller shall supply, on request, the current qualifications and experience of the following personnel on his/her staff or with sub-suppliers: project manager, process engineers, design engineers, stress analysts, quality control engineers, NDE technologists, welders and field erection representatives. All nondestructive testing and reporting shall be done by personnel holding current qualifications to ASNT-TC 1A Level 2 or equivalent. 11 de 11 SIERRA GORDA PROJECT NEXUS > — aNERA QUADRA CHE TOA Date 02/05/2011 7.0 Technical Specification Vertical Turbine Pumps Document N° NXSG-0000-S0ET-003 INSPECTION AND TEST 7.1 Hydrostatic Test Hydrostatic tests (at 1.5 times MAWP) are required on the pump bowl, column, and discharge head assembly in accordance with Section B6 of ASA BS8.1, and shall be maintained for a minimum period of 30 minutes, Certification of test results is required. 7.2 Performance Test The fully assembled pump and motor shall be factory performance tested prior to shipment to ensure that the unit conforms with the performance curves, and data submitted by Seller with Seller's quotation, and that the operation of the unit is mechanically correct. The performance test procedure shall be in accordance with the test procedure outlined in Section B6 of the American Standard For Vertical Turbine Pumps ASA B58. 1 The complete pump package, including column pipe and appendages, shall be guaranteed for pressure, capacity, and power consumption at the specified design operating conditions, and for satisfactory application in all respects to the operating conditions specified on the individual pump datasheet. Certified copies of the factory performance test data and performance curves plotted from these data shall be furnished. In addition, performance curves suitably corrected for the differences between factory and field conditions, after taking into account friction losses in the column assembly, shall be shown. Performance curve approval is required prior to pump shipment. Vibration readings shall be taken at each capacity test point. Acceptance criteria shall be per HIS (throughout the full range of the curve, except shutoff). Readings shall be taken at the top motor bearing for pumps with rigid couplings. 7.3 Test Water Quality Austenitic stainless steel! equipment, including stainless cladding or lining which is tested in the shop, shall have controlled test water in order to prevent stress cracking. Equipment must be drained thoroughly after testing. Where complete drainage is impossible, it is necessary to flush with chloride free water, alcohol, petroleum distillate, or suitable flushing solution. Hot air drying is not acceptable in lieu of flushing, but water may be blown out of pockets with air. 8.0 PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT After successful shop testing, it is intended that this equipment be shipped to the job site, as much as possible, completely assembled. All components that must be disassembled for shipment shall be properly match marked and documented or cross referenced to an assembly drawing, Each item shall be identified with a securely attached non-corroding metal tag, impression stamped with equipment number and purchase order number. Adequate protection shall be provided against mechanical damage and atmospheric corrosion in transit and for a six-month period of outdoor storage at job site prior to installation Exposed finished and machined surfaces, including bolting and flange faces, shall be given a heavy coating of solvent removable rust inhibiting compound, Internal metal surfaces shall be sprayed or coated with a suitable rust preventative. Separate, loose, or small parts shall be boxed with each part individually protected as required. Each individual container shall be marked both inside and outside with the Purchase Order and equipment numbers and contents. Pumps will be delivered as a complete assembled unit, i.e. one pump at one box. Electric Motors will be boxed separately in one box per motor. 14 de 14
