This specification complements the data sheets on which the operating conditions and special requirements are listed in detail for each individual pump. Compliance with this specification does not relieve Pump Supplier of the responsibility of furnishing pumps and accessories of proper design, electrically and mechanically suited to meet operating guarantees at the specified service conditions. Pump shall be vertical, cantilevered, centrifugal type single stage. Pump shall be designed for operation outdoors totally unprotected from the environment. All the pumps must be heavy duty type. Pumps shall be suitable for the operating temperature listed on the pump datasheet. Pump shall be supplied with mounting base plate and discharge flanged pipe. Pump length shall be according to Technical Data Sheet Design and fabrication shall ensure accurate alignment of shafting and bearings. The pump shall be supplied with lifting eyes. Casing thickness shall be according to Seller Standards, Pumps shall be furnished with flanged discharged nozzles at the support plate. Flanges shall conform to ANSI B16.5 Standards. 4.2 Performance Pumps with constant speed drivers shall have impeller diameters or sheaves such that at least 5 percent increase in head at the rated capacity can be obtained by installing a larger diameter impeller of the same pattern, or change in the pulley and V-belt combination. Castings shall be sound and free from shrink or blow holes, scale, blisters, and other defects. The surfaces shall be cleaned by Seller's standard methods. Casting burrs shall be filled or ground flush with the surface of the casting, 4.4 Equipment 4.4.1 Column Construction: Flanged joints affecting the alignment of the column shall have faces machined after attachment to the column sections to ensure straightness of the assembled unit. The discharge pipe and bearing lubrication shall be sealed at the pump support plate. 4.4.2 Impellers The Impellers shall be of manufacturer standard construction. Impeller shall be of semi-open design, statically and dynamically balanced without adding weight, to ensure smooth operation. Shaft attachment shall allow for reverse rotation of the pump without loosening the impeller. Impellers shall be keyed type. Impeller design shall not be either minimum or maximum impeller size. Design capacity shall not exceed 90 percent of the capacity obtainable with maximum impeller at design head. Maximum and minimum impeller sizes shall be listed. 4.4.3 Shafts Shafts shall be of 1-piece construction. 4.4.4 Thrust Bearings Thrust bearings shall be provided with adequate protection to exclude dirt and moisture under conditions of outdoor operation. Document N° NXSG-0000-50ET-007 Thrust bearings shall be designed to carry the maximum thrust (up and down) that the pump may develop during starting or stopping, or while operating at any capacity. 4.4.5 Drivers Motors shall be properly derrated for operation at 1700 m.a.s.l Motors shall cover the indicated speed range of the pump properly. Induction motors supplied by Seller shall be in strict accordance with related Technical Specification NXSG-0000-65ET-002 Low Voltage Induction Motors. Motors for pumps shall be solid shaft type. Drivers shall have a nameplate rating no less than 115 percent of the maximum. brake horsepower required by the pump with the furnished diameter impeller. 4.4.6 Pump Support Plate A pump support plate made to Seller's standard dimensions with holes drilled for mounting shall be supplied with each pump. The supplier must indicate spacing, number and diameter of anchor bolts. 4.4.7 Intake Strainer (Suction) Suction strainers shall be provided with each pump. Strainers shall be of heavy duty construction. Suction strainers material shall be according to Seller data sheets. 4.4.8 Painting Painting shall be Vendor standard and must be appropriate for the ambient conditions. Page 6 of 6SIERRA GORDA PROJECT NExUS| @ [tT MIKERA QUADRA LEO, Date one ‘hnical Specification Vertical Sump Pumps ‘Document N° NXSG-0000-60ET-007 5.0 INSPECTION AND TESTS 5.1 Hydrostatic Test Each pressure casing shall be hydrostatically tested with water at ambient temperature. The minimum test pressure shall be 1.5 times the maximum working pressure with zero leakage. Hydrostatic tests shall be maintained for a minimum of 30 minutes. Certification of hydrostatic test results is required. 5.2 Test Water Quality The following criteria shall be used: ‘© Water containing more than 100 ppm chlorides shall not be used for test. ©. Water containing more than 50 ppm and less than 100 ppm chlorides shall be treated with an inhibitor of 1.5 percent soda ash and 0.5 percent sodium nitrate. The chloride content of the soda ash shall not exceed 500 ppm. These percentages are by weight. © Water containing less than 50 ppm chlorides does not require the use of an inhibitor. Equipment must be drained thoroughly after testing. Where complete drainage is impossible, flush with chloride free water, alcohol, petroleum distillate, or suitable flushing solution. Hot air drying is not acceptable in lieu of flushing, but water may be blown out of pockets with air. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE Seller shall furnish details of the quality assurance program to be applied during the preparation or fabrication of equipment. Document N° NXSG-0000-50ET-007 The Seller shall furnish written certification that the equipment has been manufactured in compliance with the quality assurance program and the requirements of the procurement documents. This certification will be the basis of Owner's final payment of Purchase Order The responsibility for inspection rests with the Bidder; however, the Purchaser reserves the right to inspect at any time during fabrication Performance curves shall be furnished indicating differential heads as a function of capacity, efficiency, NPSH required, and power. Curves shall state clearly the units and the reference fluid. Units shall be metric units. On the furnished curves, the expected performance of the maximum impeller diameter shall be indicated as well 5.0 PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT Pumps, drivers, and furnished auxiliaries shall be shipped fully assembled, except as noted below. Coupling spacers with bolts and other items that are not part of the pumping unit assembly shall be separately boxed and securely attached to the pump. Drivers shall be mounted by Seller. After satisfactory alignment has been verified and the drivers dowelled for reassembly, the drivers may be removed for shipment.
