SCOPE 4.4 GENERAL ZX, This specifications covers the design, construction, assembly, testing and supply of 0.75 KW (1 HP) up to 200 KW (280 HP), 380 Volt Induction Motors. All motors furnished to this specification shall be severe duty type that will deliver dependable, trouble free service under the most adverse and demanding conditions. The motors shall be supplied for Sierra Gorda Project located in Region 1! of northern Chile, at 1700 meters above sea level. ‘The equipment shall include all the necessary and required engineering components and materials in accordance with this specification and data sheets. 4.2. WORK NOT INCLUDED ‘A. Foundation and anchor bolts. B. Field installation and testing (except technical supervision, if required and called for in the purchase agreement). C. External control devices and instruments. D. Electric power supply, conduit, cabling and wiring external to the equipment. E. SEC Chilean Electrical Standards for “High” and “Low’ Currents HSEC Health, Safety, Environmental and Community Standard IEEE 841 Chemical Industry Severe-Duty Sguirrel-Cage Induction Motors ZN IEC International Electrotechnical Comission (May be substituted for NEMA standard only pecifically as permitted by owner) Sellers proposing equipment and materials which are designed, constructed and tested to requirements other than those specified above, shall submit adequate documentation to enable the Buyer to determine the suitability of the proposed equipment for the intended application GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 24 GENERAL The motors will be suitable for operation at site conditions specified in attached Data Sheets. Motors have to be altitude derated based on site elevation specified ‘Squirrel Cage Motors shall be designed to suit the following conditions: + Continuous operation. + Full voltage starting (across-the-line). + Operation in either direction of rotation. The Seller shall supply premium energy efficient motors (in accordance with Nema MG1-1993, 12.58.1) for continuous duty motors 2.25 kW and above. ELECTRICAL Project e PROYECTO SIERRA GORDA NEXUS Sy oc - MPERACHAON GRELTON, Fecha 31/05/2011 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION LOW VOLTAGE INDUCTION MOTORS __| N° MGCL-NXSG-0000:ND-EST-ELE-0003 The equipment shall be designed, constructed and tested in accordance with the American Standard Test Code for polyphase induction motors and generators, IEEE-112 and all other applicable codes and standards. In cases where the requirements of this specification exceed latest applicable codes and standards, the specification shall take precedence and final interpretation shall rest with the Buyer. All equipment, components and materials furnished shall be suitable for the duty specified in attached Data Sheets. All equipment, components and materials furnished shall be new, of premium quality and heavy- duty design, either meeting or exceeding the requirements of this specification. ‘All equipment and components shall be of recent manufacture and standard design, for which replacement parts and service are readily available. ‘One (1) complete set per motor or one set per group of motors of special tools for installation and maintenance purposes shall be furnished with the equipment by the Seller. Motors to be able to operate with variable frequency drives (VFD) shall be stated on Data Sheets. The manufacturer shall be fully responsible to provide motors designed electrically and mechanically capable to be operated with VFD. Technical topics, such as, insulation class, temperature rating, bearings, etc must be carefully designed. Low voltage motors to be operated by VED shall be designed to operate under the following limit at the motor terminal, in accordance with Nema MG1 Part 31 Vpeak $3.1 Vrated that means Vpeak < 1600 V The Seller may recommend and quote accessories, if required, for the maintenance of equipment furnished, 3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 RATINGS Voltage Motor nameplate voltage ratings shall be 380 Volts, 3 phases, 50 Hertz, The system nominal voltage will be 400 Volts, 3 phase, 50 Hz with the following variations: (1) voltage variations of 10% of rated voltage, with rated frequency; (2) frequency variations of 5% of rated frequency; (3) ELECTRICAL Seeereeeemmnnoes Fecha 31/08/2011 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION LOW VOLTAGE INDUCTION MOTORS __| N° MACL-NXSG.0000:ND-EST-ELE.0009 Project PROYECTO SIERRA GORDA Nexus | QQ fee ‘combined variation in voltage and frequency of 10% (sum of absolute values, of the rated values, provided the frequency variation does not exceed + 5% of rated frequency). Rating Basis ZA Motors shall be rated in kilowatts (kW) (0.746 KW equals 1 HP), unless otherwise stated. Motors from 0.75 KW (1 HP) up to and including 200 kW (280 HP) shall be 380 Volts, 3 phase, 50 Hz. Motors below 0.75 kW (1 HP) shall be 220 VAC, single phase. The required nameplate rating for ‘each motor will be given on the motor Data Sheet. The name plate rating shall be effective at the altitude and temperature specified in site conditions. Service Factor Motors shall have a service factor as specified on Data Sheets, particular for each processing and site conditions. NEMA Design In general motors shall have NEMA Design B characteristics (normal starting torque, low starting current), NEMA C and NEMA D for special applications with high torque. Efficiency All Motors should be energy efficient type (NEMA Premium). The maximum locked motor current of the motors shall be per the latest NEMA Standards, not exceeding 6.5 times the full load current at rated motor voltage. Nameplates Motor nameplates shall be inscribed in Spanish with the complete motor description, including bearing replacement numbers. Nameplates shall be stainless steel engraved. Additional information shall be provided later to manufacturer to include in motor nameplate special codes (SAP numbers) required from the client. 3.2. WINDING INSULATION The winding insulation shall be minimum of NEMA Class “F" non hygroscopic with a Class B temperature rise with 1.0 service factor under the site conditions. INSPECTION AND TESTING Tests shall be conducted in accordance with the applicable requirements of the codes and standards described herein and the appropriate test documentation shall be submitted to the Buyer. Factory load and temperature rise test for one of each class of motors shall be performed by the motor manufacturer. Certified test results shall be provided by the motor manufacturer, stating the method for voltage, current and capacity deratings for ambient and altitude, if any. The Seller shall furnish factory certified guaranteed minimum efficiency based on tests using Method "B" (Dynamometer) of IEEE-112. The Seller shall furnish factory certified polarization index and megger test-results for each motor furnished. The Buyer shall be notified in ample time in advance of all tests so that he may, at his option, arrange for representation at such tests. All deficiencies observed during the testing process shall be documented and corrected prior to shipment. 5. DOCUMENTATION The Seller shall supply all drawings and data listed in accordance with the requirements of the Purchase Order. Failure in providing the requested information will result in disqualification of the Seller. 6. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT Packing and preparation for shipment shall be in accordance with procurement documents. ELECTRICAL 10
