Relative to DepEd Memorandum no. 173, s. 2019 re: Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa,
Canarum Elementary School, amidst the pandemic happening around the world, is still
committed to extend quality learning at school and at home. Aside from reading,
numeracy skills is also an important aspect of our daily lives. It is said that reading and
numbers are two related subjects that all of us should learn.
Project I-RANS with youth and parents will be done by Canarum Youth Volunteers
and Parents. This will be done at home or in the community. It will be done for three (3)
months.
Education has never been this challenging. This pandemic has brought a lot of
changes not only to the lives of every adult individual but also to everyday living of
youths and children. COVID-19 has made it more obvious that public school system
cannot fulfill its mission without the help of family and stakeholders. This school year
2021-2022, our family and stakeholders have played a big role in order to achieve the
education that our pupils need. They become the teachers at home and the one who face
the threat of this virus.
As our limited face to face classes started a lot of changes have been observed
especially in reading and numeracy skills of our learners, We cannot deny the fact that
our leaners were struggling when it comes to reading and solving Math problems.
Having this, we from Canarum ES have thought of something to help our struggling
learners; This leads to this project I-RANS with youths and Parents an innovation
program that aims to help or learners improve their reading and numeracy skills with
the help of our Youth volunteers and parents. Given that learners have their limited
face to face, this project will also help those learners that will not be in school to
continue learning with the help of parents and youth volunteers.
Develop the reading and numeracy skills of CES pupils with the help of
youths and other stakeholders
Patronize the reading programs such as DEAR (Drop Everything and
Read), Math Challenge, Peer Teaching, and Each One Teach One,
observing health protocols
Inculcate the love and appreciation for reading and numbers
