• Drugs are taken to avoid or relieve withdrawal symptoms. - Going too long without drugs causes
symptoms such as nausea, restlessness, insomnia, depression, sweating, shaking, and anxiety.
• Lost control over the drug use. - Often doing drugs or using more than planned, even when
promising self not to. Wants to stop using, but feels powerless.
• Life revolves around drug use. - Spends a lot of time using and thinking about drugs, figuring out
how to get them, and recovering from the drug’s effects.
• Abandoned activities - previously enjoyed, such as hobbies, sports, and socializing, because of
drug use. • Continues to use drugs, despite knowing it hurts you. - Drug use causes major problems —
blackouts, infections, mood swings, depression, paranoia — but uses anyway
Drug dependence - who misuse drugs are at increased risk of serious drug use later in life.
Poor judgment t- drug use is associated with poor judgment in social and personal interactions.
Sexual activity- Drug use is associated with high-risk sexual activity, unsafe sex and unplanned
pregnancy.
Mental health disorder-. Drug use can complicate or increase the risk of mental health disorders, such
as depression and anxiety.
Impaired driving-Driving under the influence of any drug can impair a driver's motor skills, putting the
driver, passengers and others on the road at risk.

psychosis — such as schizophrenia, hallucination or paranoia — later in life associated with early and

Drug abuse is a global problem that poses a great danger to the
many countries.
Addiction to drugs is one of the saddest tragedies of modern man which threatens his life. Despite this,
unfortunately tendency toward these deadly substances, especially opiate substances, is daily
increasing, especially among adolescents

Drug use can result in drug addiction, serious impairment, illness and death. Health risks of commonly
used drugs include the following:
Inhalants — Risk of damage to heart, lungs, liver and kidneys from long-term use
Marijuana — most of impairment in memory, learning, problem solving and concentration; risk
psychosis — such as schizophrenia, hallucination or paranoia — later in life associated with early and
frequent use
Electronic cigarettes (vaping) — Exposure to harmful substances similar to exposure from cigarette

• Neglected responsibilities at school, work, or home (e.g. flunking classes, skipping work,
neglectingyour children) because of drug use.
• Using drugs under dangerous conditions or taking risks while high, such as driving while on drugs,using
dirty needles, or having unprotected sex.
• Drug use is causing legal trouble, such as arrests for disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, or
stealing to support a drug habit.
• Drug use is causing problems in relationships, such as fights with a partner or family members,
anunhappy boss, or the loss of old friends.
• A drug tolerance is built up. More of the drug is needed to experience the same effect one used
toattain with smaller amounts.
