Dear Prabhus,
Welcome to the issue. America’s sade sati occurs whenever Saturn transits
Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius—the signs before, of and after
America’s natal Capricorn rashi. Saturn moved into the warring sign of
Sagittarius, the 12th position from Capricorn, on 27 January 2017. Therefore
this date begins America’s 7½ year period of sade sati (lit “7½”). Thus with
Saturn’s ingress into Dhanusha (the centaur bowman), America’s “thralldom
of Shani” has begun and—except for a few months later this year—sade sati
will continue to afflict “the land of the free and the home of the brave” until
29 March 2025.
Devotees do not fear sade sati since those who chant Hare Krishna and serve
the bona fide spiritual master have been rendered relatively free from karmic

reactions. For the devotee, Saturn is a philosophical planet that brings
progress on the path of wisdom and piety. But America, a country founded
on bloodshed and maintained by a gigantic war machine, has serious karmic
reactions lurking behind the curtains. Because there are gigantic sins that
have never been atoned for, Saturn as the planet of karma will continue to
pour out its reactions upon the land. To sum it up, the only salvation for
America—the only means of pushing back karmic reactions—is the
sankirtana movement of Lord Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and the
distribution of Shrila Prabhupada’s books. Thanks for reading.

Saturn in Sagittarius: America Begins Sade Sati

Sad times in Sade Sati
Since America is ruled by Capricorn Moon, when Saturn entered Sagittarius
in January of this year the country began sade sati. America’s Declaration of
Independence was not actually signed on 4th July 1776. Three days before
that on 1st July 1776, the Second Continental Congress met in Philadelphia.
It was on the next day that twelve of the thirteen American colonies voted in
favor of Richard Henry Lee’s motion for independence. As far as planetary
movements are concerned, the Moon entered Capricorn (Makara rashi) at
around 4:21am on 2nd July 1776 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and stayed in
the sign of the crocodile (Capricorn or Makara) till 6:27am on 4th July 1776.
Thus the Moon was in Aquarius (Kumbha rashi) from sunrise on 4th July.
Whether one takes Makara or Kumbha as America’s Moon sign, it is a
foregone conclusion that Saturn—Shanideva—is the predominating
planetary deity. However, an objective analysis must bring the astrologer to
the conclusion that the overall characteristics of America are Capricorn—a
vaishya sign of movable earth. The land of Uncle Sam does not resemble the
qualities of a stoic and reserved Aquarius country—fixed air. From seeing
the dates above, it is clear that the decision and vote for an independent and
sovereign America grew out of Capricorn Moon on July 2nd and 3rd.

After two days of debating and fine tuning the statement drafted by Thomas
Jefferson, the delegates officially adopted the Declaration of Independence
on 4th July. Nonetheless, it would be nearly a month later that they actually
signed the Declaration. A few signed even later and some declined to sign at
all. But the decision had already been forged during a Makara Moon on 2 Jul.
America is country predominated by vaishyas (Capricorn=earth). Everything
there is based upon business—medicine, insurance, the dwellings and
schools, even parking your car. To accommodate this profit-oriented
business mentality, rules are constantly in flux. This changeableness of
regulations reflects the sign’s movable (Capricorn=chara) qualities.
Insurance regulations, bank rules, and the government’s laws themselves are
constantly rewritten, even as local authorities bait the citizens by telling
them somberly, “There is no excuse for ignorance of the law.” And
whenever the laws of America’s corporate-dictated government change,
straight-faced officials act as though that is the way it has always been.
These are the Saturnian quality of Capricorn. Since America is a consumer-
oriented vaishya society, styles are constantly changing and “newer, better”
technology is constantly being introduced resulting in gigantic junkyards
being plowed over with yesterday’s treasures.
Shrila Prabhupada once noted that America was founded on bloodshed;
therefore even a moment’s sense gratification there traps the so-called
“enjoyer” within the very karma upon which America has been built. A
glance at a map of America reveals tens of thousands of places, mountains,
rivers, cities and towns that bear the ancient names given by Native
American communities—yet where are those people now? Can entire
civilizations be swept under the rug while smug invaders comfortably
pretend that they just moved into their suburban communities, ignoring the
corpses buried beneath their feet?
One of the means that the European colonialists destroyed the native
civilizations was to shoot wild buffalo herds from their trains for “sport.”
Though millions of these great beasts once roamed the plains, the bison
species has practically become extinct along with the peoples who were
maintained by the herds. Today sinful slaughter houses have been
substituted for that colonial proclivity to wage war upon innocent creatures.
We wish current President-elect Trump well. If he survives and is elected to
a second term, he will be a sade sati President. On the domestic front,
America needs the strictest rule of law to prevent an out-and-out war at

home. Martial law is a possibility. Karmic reactions have taken the form of
all too common random shootings at shopping malls and city streets. On the
international scene, American needs to butt out of the business of other
countries and mind it own discordant affairs. America is racked by
substantial problems of homelessness, AIDS, rampant crime, violence,
greedy banks, dishonest media, corrupt and atheistic school systems,
corporate control over politicians, sexual perversion, slaughterhouses, mega-
farms, and widespread intoxication (often with medical approval in the form
of psychotropic drugs prescribed to millions of stoned citizens). But it is
doubtful that America’s proclivity to make profit for the arms industry
through declaring war on innocent nations will be curbed. It is said that only
seventeen years of peace have occurred since America was declared an
independent nation. America has eight hundred Army bases worldwide,
which are open doors to Saturn’s power to bestow huge doses of residual
karmic reactions upon the land and upon every person, whether citizen or
immigrant, who “enjoys” living there.
Just as Saturn is the last and most remote of jyotisha shastra’s nava-grahas,
so Shanideva as the solar system’s judge and jury has the final say. Manda’s
(“the slow planet’s”) decrees based upon individual and collective karma are
always well considered and final. Farthest from the Sun, Saturn is as cold as
his impartial judgments. Yet he dispenses equally and with no favoritism.
Saturn is the planet of both the super-powerful and the insignificant beggar.
Whether the urchin or the great industrialist; whether the person wasting
away like a waning Moon or the brilliant sadhu—all are governed by
different aspects of Saturn. Saturn takes a person to dizzying heights to test
him, and see if he will fall from his lofty position. The wise hold onto their
exalted posts with acts of piety, and thus befriend this great tester planet
even as the move upward. For the Krishna conscious devotee, the planet of
karma Saturn, a demigod servant of the Supreme Lord, rewards him or her
with benefits simply because there is no residual sin in the form of vikarma-
phala attached to Krishna’s servant.
Sade Sati and America
1st Sade Sati: 1 December 1781 till 11 May 1789
War: From the beginning of America’s first sade sati, the American
Revolution against Britain is ongoing. It lasts until 1783.
$$$: Look out world, the dollar is chosen as America’s currency in 1784.

Wholesale Slaughter of Natives: America’s westward expansion costs the
lives of millions of so-called Indians as the Congress of the United States
establishes governing rules aimed at eradicating the inhabitants of the
Northwest Territory.
2nd Sade Sati: 9 January 1811 till 16 March 1819
The New Madrid Earthquakes last for several months of 1811 along the
Mississippi River, and causes a reversal in the gigantic river’s flow. They
remain the most powerful earthquakes to hit the contiguous United States
east of the Rocky Mountains. Tremors are felt strongly over 50,000 sq miles.
Battle of Tippecanoe: America continues its bloody wars against the native
population, and wins the Battle of Tippecanoe in 1812.
War of 1812: U.S. President James Madison asks the U.S. Congress to
declare war on the United Kingdom. Fierce fighting continues till 1815.
British troops burn Washington DC in 1814.
The Second Bank of the United States, located in Philadelphia, becomes
the second federally authorized Hamiltonian national bank in 1816.
Genocide in Florida: Seminole Wars break out in 1917.
Panic of 1819: Monetary manipulation leads to the first major peacetime
financial crisis in the United States.
3rd Sade Sati: 19 March 1840 till 23 January 1849
The Great Natchez Tornado of 1840, a massive tornado strikes Natchez,
Mississippi and kills 317 people, becoming the second deadliest tornado in
U.S. history.
Death of Pres. Harrison: Native American genocide supporter William
Henry Harrison becomes US President on 4 March 1841. He is the last US
President who was born as a British subject and dies 32 days into his term.
White House Bank Riots of 1841: Late President Harrison is succeeded by
Vice-President John Tyler. Tyler soon vetoes a bill which called for the re-
establishment of the Second Bank of the United States. Enraged Whig Party
members riot outside the White House in the most violent demonstration on
White House grounds in U.S. history.
Westward expansion: The first major wagon train heading for the
American Northwest sets out with one thousand pioneers from Elm Grove,
Missouri on the Oregon Trail in May of 1843.
The Great Flood of 1844: In June and July the Missouri and Mississippi
Rivers flood, and are biggest ever recorded in that region.
Pittsburg Fire: Much of that city is wiped out on 10 April 1845.

Manifest Destiny: U.S. President James K. Polk announces to Congress on
2 December 1845 that the Monroe Doctrine should be strictly enforced as
America’s Manifest destiny of aggressive westward expansion.
Mexican-American War: America invades Mexico from 1846 to 1848.
Mexican territories of Texas and California are eventually taken by the US.
California gold rush: In 1848-1849 Kali tempts the “Forty-niners.”
4th Sade Sati: 31 December 1869 till 7 March 1878
The First Transcontinental Railroad in North America is completed at
Promontory, Utah on 10 May 1860. Millions of wild bison, the sustenance
of native Indians are shot by passengers for “sport,” encouraged as a means
of eradicating any last Indians.
Standard Oil: John D. Rockefeller incorporates Standard Oil, later Esso and
after that Exxon, on 10 January 1869.
Midwest Fires: In October 1871 four gigantic fires break out on the shores
of Lake Michigan in Chicago; Peshtigo, Wisconsin; Holland, Michigan; and
Manistee, Michigan. The Great Chicago Fire is the most famous of these,
leaving nearly 100,000 people homeless, although the Peshtigo Fire kills as
many as 2,500 people, making it the deadliest fire in United States history.
American Indian Wars ignite in the claimed American West. Eventually
surviving tribes are forced by US Calvary to march to reservations in
Oklahoma. About half die along the way.
5th Sade Sati: 21 February 1899 till 10 January 1908
The Philippine–American War begins as hostilities break out in Manila
The war lasts from February 1899 till 1902. After this war America emerges
as a world power. It is said that the war is a false flag created with collusion
between the government and the newspapers.
US Steel: J. P. Morgan buys mines and steel mills in 1901 in the first billion
dollar business deal in the United States. He creates US Steel. Oil is
discovered in Texas in the same year.
Assassination: Capricorn-born William McKinley becomes US President in
1901, but is later assassinated. Later in that year the Galveston Hurricane
kills about 8,000 people.
Fires: Jacksonville, Florida: The Great Fire of 3 May 1901 becomes the
third largest urban fire in the US, next to the Great Chicago Fire (during the
previous sade sati) and the 1906 San Francisco fire (occurred during this
sade sati). On 7 February 1904, the Great Baltimore Fire in Baltimore,
Maryland, destroys over 1,500 buildings in 30 hours.

April 1906: San Francisco earthquake and great fire (estimated magnitude
7.8) on the San Andreas Fault destroys much of San Francisco, California,
USA, killing at least 3,000, with 225,000–300,000 left homeless.
6th Sade Sati: 24 December 1928 till 26 February 1937
The Wall Street Crash of 1929 occurs in October when three multi-digit
percentage drops wipe out more than $30 billion from the New York Stock
Exchange—10 times greater than the annual budget of the federal
government. It begins less than a year into sade sati and kickstarts
America’s ten-year Great Depression which takes place mostly throughout
America’s sixth sade sati cycle.
Teapot Dome Scandal: On 25 October 1929 former U.S. Interior Secretary
Albert B. Fall is convicted of bribery and becomes the first Presidential
cabinet member sent to prison for actions in office.
7th Sade Sati: 13 February 1958 till 12 April 1966
The Sixties: The early years of America seventh sade sati were under the
capable hands of President Dwight Eisenhower. However, when he left
office, he warned of a coming military-industrial complex in a thought-
provoking farewell address to the nation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWiIYW_fBfY :
An era of upheaval and social turmoil followed the conservative Eisenhower
years. America becomes entangled in a colonial conflict which had been
brewing since the mid-fifties, and which escalates into the full scale Viet
Nam War. It continues throughout and beyond the sade sati resulting in
widespread protests all over the US. On 7 August 1964 The United States
Congress passes the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, granting U.S. President
Lyndon B. Johnson sweeping war powers to deal with North Vietnam’s
attacks on U.S. forces. History later reveals that Viet Cong did not attack US
ships in the Gulf of Tonkin, and the entire event was staged as a false flag.
The Viet Nam War would only end—in 1975—once the Hare Krishna
Movement and the sankirtana yagna had gained momentum in America
JFK: John F Kennedy is elected, and at 43 is America’s youngest President.
He takes office in January of 1961. On April 27 of that year, he urges
newspapers to consider national interest in times of struggle against “a
monolithic and ruthless conspiracy” in his address before the American
Newspaper Publishers Association. Then on 4 June 1963 he signs Executive
Order 11110, authorizing the Secretary of the Treasury to issue silver
certificates. He is murdered with by unknown persons after three years in

office in a Dallas motorcade on 22 November 1963. A retired FBI agent
named Zack Shelton later names the killer as Mafia hit man James Earl Files

America begins testing nuclear bombs in the Pacific and South Atlantic
during this period which results in widespread anti-nuke demonstrations.
Other mass protests erupt on campuses throughout America urging racial
integration, free speech and anti-war. Soon the Cuban Missile Crises and
Bay of Pigs invasion into Cuba would take America to the brink of nuclear
war with Russia.
To Burn for Centuries: On May 27 1962 an underground coal mine fire
becomes ignited in Centralia, Pennsylvania. This fire has been burning to
this day, spewing sooty smoke throughout the area. Only around half a
dozen residents remain in Centralia to this day. It is estimated that the
Centralia underground coal fire may burn for another 250 years.
Nuclear Near-Disasters: There were dozens of major airline disasters
during this sade sati resulting in the deaths of thousands. On 15 February
1961, a Sabena Boeing 707 crashes near Brussels killing 73, including the
entire United States figure skating team and several coaches. There were
also many nuclear bomb accidents. On 11 March a B-47 bomber
accidentally discharged a bomb onto a neighborhood in South Carolina. The
bomb did not go off, but many were injured. On 21 January 1961, a B-52
carrying two nuclear bombs crashes near Goldsboro, North Carolina, though
neither bomb explodes. Again, on 13 March 1961, another B-52 crashes near
Yuba City, California after losing cabin pressure and fuel running dry. In the
wreckage two nuclear weapons are found unexploded. Once more on 17
January 1966 yet another B-52 collides with a Stratotanker military plane
over Spain, dropping three 70-kiloton hydrogen bombs near the town of
Palomares, and one into the sea,
NASA: America has been looking to expand its continued manifest destiny
into space from the beginning of this sade sati. On 29 July 1958 U.S.
Congress formally creates the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA), which would later fake America’s series of staged
Moon landings in order to raise taxes on the gullible public and convince
them of America’s technological superiority over Russia.
WTC: On 18 January 1964 plans to build the World Trade Center are
announced. Nine years later, while under construction, when Shrila

Prabhupada is told that they would become the tallest buildings in the world,
His Divine Grace replies that they would also become the smallest.
Alaska Quake: The second most powerful recorded
earthquake in history occurs in Alaska, on 27 March
1964. The Great Alaskan Earthquake is measured at a
magnitude of 9.2. It kills 125 people and inflicts
massive damage to the city of Anchorage.
Not co-incidentally America’s seventh sade sati is also
the time of the country’s turbulent “Civil Rights Era,”
which was marked by widespread unrest, protests and
race riots. Leading folk singers like Pete Seeger, Bob
Dylan and Joan Baez joined black leaders in demonstrating for changes in
America’s racial policies, and calling for integration and social equality. The
“60’s Generation” of social misfits is born. Then, just six months from the
end of America’s 7th sade sati, Shrila Prabhupada arrives in the US on 17
September 1965. He is quickly hailed as the prophet of the coming Golden
Age of sankirtana, a pure devotee on a divine mission to defeat atheism and
the sins of Kali Yuga. Four days from the end of America’s sade sati, as
Saturn is poised to enter Pisces, Time magazine poses the question on its 8
April 1966 cover, “Is God Dead?”
8th Sade Sati: 18 December 1987 till 16 February 1996
Reagan-Bush-Clinton: America’s 8th sade sati opens in the final year of
Ronald Reagan’s presidency. It was widely thought that his vice-President,
George HW Bush—who previously led the CIA—was actually calling the
shots, and that Reagan, a B-movie Hollywood actor turned politician, was
the manicured figurehead merely doing his job of offering an agreeable face
before the American public. George HW Bush follows Reagan into the
White House, holding the land’s highest office for one term, from 1989 till
1993. Ominously, on 8 January 1992 George H. W. Bush is televised falling
violently ill at a state dinner in Japan, vomiting into the lap of Prime
Minister Kiichi Miyazawa and fainting. Bush’s vice-President Dan Quayle
would be considered by some to be the least intelligent politician in
American history, until (others have argued) Bush’s son George “Dubya”
Bush becomes a two-term President from 2001 till 2009. After the first Bush,
America decided that it had suffered Republicans long enough and decided it
was time to suffer the Democrats when Bill Clinton became a scandal-
plagued President in 1993, serving till the end of the 8th sade sati.

Wars: On 20 December 1989 US invaded Panama and overthrow Manuel
Noriega. Noriega had once basically worked in tandem with the US but in its
movable Capricorn way the Americans now decided that he was no longer
of any use.
The Gulf War, codenamed Operation Desert Shield, is launched from 2
August 1990. Fighting continues till 28 February 1991. Like Noriega, Iraq
leader Saddam Hussein had once enjoyed a working relationship with the
American government, but his usefulness has now run dry and he is declared
persona non grata.
Disasters: A small fire near Yellowstone National Park starts burning in
mid-June 1988. As it grows, it expands into the park where it merges with
dozens of other drought-caused fires and becomes known as the Storm
Creek Fire. Eventually, over 750,000 acres of Yellowstone, or 36% of the
park’s total area, are incinerated before firefighters gain the upper hand 3½
months later in late September. From 17-22 September 1989 Hurricane
Hugo roars through the Caribbean and America’s southeast causing $8
billion in damage. Next, on 17 October of the same year the Loma Prieta
earthquake causes extensive damage and 63 deaths in Northern California.
Global Warming Raises it Head: In June of 1988 a scientist from NASA,
the same gang who brought us the Moon landing hoax two decades earlier,
testifies before the Senate that their global warming theory is factual. Not so
co-incidentally, the results of the lunar landing and global warming charades
are the same: higher taxes.
Riot: Even Tompkins Square Park, from where Shrila Prabhupada launched
the sankirtana movement in the West, is not spared. On 6 August 1988 a riot
erupts there when police attempt to enforce a newly passed curfew to clear
the bums and drug addicts from the park.
9th Sade Sati: 27 January 2017 till 29 March 2025.
For America, sade sati cycles have traditionally increased hostilities and
fighting all over the world. The first sade sati saw the American Revolution
in full progress, while the second witnessed the War of 1812. For the third
there was the Mexican-American War. The Spanish-American War occurred
during the 5th. The 6th sade sati went down during the Great Depression and
just in between the two World Wars (which verify what many historians
declare, that WW2 was actually an extension of WW1). The 7th sade sati
was marked by the Viet Nam Era. The 8th sade sati saw the Invasion of

Panama and beginning of the Gulf War, which continues in different forms
to this day. Therefore, it would be extremely optimistic to assume that
America’s present sade sati will reflect times of world peace, joy and
international understanding. America has entered into this sade sati having
recently dropped bombs in Egypt, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria
and Lebanon in the past two or three years. The conclusion must be that
Saturn in Sagittarius, the fire sign of the armed centaur, will only escalate
tensions.
It might well be argued that selecting any random 7½-year increments of
America’s history of warfare would show similar results. But let us consider
the fate of America’s leaders who were actually born under Capricorn to
ascertain some clues the effect of this Saturn-ruled sign of the crocodile on:
1. US Pres Abraham Lincoln (assassinated);
2. US Pres Woodrow Wilson (paralyzed during last 19 months of office);
3. US President William McKinley (assassinated);
4. US Pres Richard M. Nixon (impeached and disgraced);
5. US Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy (assassinated).
We devotees are not quasi-spiritual Utopians—we are realists who seek
practical solutions here and now even as we meditate on the lotus feet of
Shri Guru and the our eternal service unto Radha-Krishna. The bottom line
is a dire need for more self-sufficient, Krishna conscious farming
communities. 

When Saturn and Jupiter enter into a dance on the grand stage of the cosmos, it
portends some strange events on the world arena …

The Dance of
Saturn and Jupiter

From researching coming planetary movements, we have noticed an
interesting phenomenon looming upon us in the near future. During the
period from 2019 till 2021, Jupiter will travel back and forth between the
two signs of Sagittarius and Capricorn a total of three times each. And
during the same period, Saturn will also alternate back and forth between
Sagittarius and Capricorn. Usually when Saturn and Jupiter come together it

foretells major disasters or warfare among major powers. Just two years
from now the world will bear witness to a heavenly dance performed by the
two titans of the zodiac as they move back and forth from Jupiter fire sign of
the bowman to Saturn’s earth sign of the crocodile.
This dance in the heavens of chess masters Shani and Guru is so strange, so unique,
that it has brought to mind the movements of the planets at the very start of Kali Yuga.

Now, the means for calculating the start of Kali Yuga has seen numerous
opinions, and scholars of astrology have presented different arguments about
when this Iron Age exactly began. Some say that the official date for the
start of Kali Yuga is 18 February 3102 BC. Yet other researchers have
focused on 22 January 3101 BC. The latter date reflects clues that were
scribed onto stone plates discovered in archaeological digs at Mohenjo-daro
in Sindh, a conclusion that could indeed be the correct date for the beginning
of this present age of discord.
The chart below has been calculated using Lahiri’s Ayanamsha with the
expertise of Shri Jagannatha Hora programme. In India, the beginning of
Kali Yuga would have been right around sunrise. Pisces was rising at 7:04
AM on January 22nd in Hastinapura (now Delhi). The Sun and Moon were
conjoined in the exact degree in the constellation of Revati in Pisces along
with Mercury and Mars. All planets arranged in three signs means that the
shula yoga or “spear combination” was in force. Most interestingly, at the
moment of exact Sun / Moon conjunction at 20º 23' Pisces, the last sign, in
the final moment of amavashya tithi transpired. The “iron planet” Shani,
lord of shudras, was in his own sign of Aquarius in the 12 th house of losses.
Through his aspect to the planets he exerted his control over the entire chart,
and hence over the entire “Iron Age” to come.

The uniqueness of the yogas for the start of Kali Yuga has led us to question
whether the dance of Saturn and Jupiter in the next few years might reflect
the beginning of the promised Golden Age within Kali Yuga. Let us now
take a look at the coming transits:
The Coming Dance of Jupiter
On March 30th 2019 Jupiter leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius.
On April 23rd 2019 Jupiter re-enters Scorpio.
On November 5th 2019 Jupiter again enters Sagittarius.
On March 30th 2020 Jupiter leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn.
On June 30th 2020 in retrograde motion Jupiter enters Sagittarius.
On November 20th 2020 Jupiter once again enters Capricorn.
On April 6th 2021 Jupiter leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius.
On September 14th 2021 Jupiter goes back into Capricorn.
The Coming Dance of Saturn
On 27th January 2017 Saturn leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius.
On 21 June 2017 Saturn re-enters Scorpio.
On October 26th 2017 Saturn leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius.
On January 24th 2020 Saturn enters Capricorn.
On April 29th 2022 Saturn enters Aquarius.
On July 12th 2022 Saturn enters Capricorn.
Now the sign of Aquarius also enters the picture.
Sagittarius being a fire sign of the bowman is a natural sign of war.
Capricorn being a vaishya sign ruled by Saturn is the sign of trade and the
masses. Therefore, the dance of Saturn and Jupiter surely indicates a period
at hand when the world economic system will have to endure certain crises
or possible collapse. Some kind of major shift or correction lies ahead.
Remember that there was a cataclysmic event in the form of the Battle of
Kurukshetra at the beginning of Kali Yuga. And at the end of Kali Yuga
Lord Kalki will come and wreak havoc upon the race of sinful mlecchas.
Therefore, it may be expected that some decisive events will occur that mark
the actual cusp of the coming Golden Age. Devotees should prepare for and
be ready for such occurrences.
In recent times, Jupiter has been steadily progressing through the twelve
signs, and staying in each sign for a year as usual. Yet now we have noticed
the following anomalies:
On October 11th 2018 Jupiter enters Scorpio.

On March 30th 2019 Jupiter enters Sagittarius.
This shows that Jupiter will speed across the entire sign of Scorpio in around
six months. The extraordinarily speedy movement of Jupiter alters the
rhythm of the zodiac. Even though Scorpio is friendly to Jupiter, Brihaspati
the lord of devotion will be rushing ahead to the safety of Sagittarius, his
own house. And thereafter, when he becomes debilitated in Capricorn, his
debility will be cancelled by Saturn, the
ruler of Capricorn, who will also be
moving in the vicinity of Jupiter.
Thus our hope is that the understanding
of the dance of Saturn and Jupiter will
be helpful to those who value the
wisdom of the stars. Saturn and Jupiter
entering into mutual conflict,
opposition, conjunction or the like often presages great catastrophic events.
Let the devotees exchange the artificial “civilization” of Kali Yuga for the
simple living and high thinking of the Veda as recommended by Shrila
Prabhupada. Having found self-sufficient shelter from coming holocausts,
Krishna’s army will be in a position to preach enthusiastically when the dust
has settled. 

“Become a Rat Again”

“Scientific advancement has created the atomic bomb to kill men,
and when it will be used people will have to go underground and
become like rats—from a tiger to a rat. That is going to happen; it
is nature’s law.”

Eating, sleeping, sex, and defense—these four principles

are common to both human beings and animals. The distinction between
human life and animal life is that a man can search after God but an animal

cannot. That is the difference. Therefore a man without that urge for
searching after God is no better than an animal.
Unfortunately, at the present moment in every state and every society people
are trying to forget God. Some people publicly say there is no God; others
say that if there is a God, He is dead; and so on. They have built such a so-
called advanced civilization, with so many skyscraper buildings, but they are
forgetting that all of their advancement is dependent on God, on Krishna.
This is a very precarious condition for the human society. There is a very
nice story that describes what happens to a society that forgets the Supreme
Personality of Godhead:
Once a rat was being troubled by a cat. So the rat went to a saintly person
who had mystic powers and said, “My dear sir, I am very much troubled.”
“What is the difficulty?”
The rat said, “A cat always chases me, so I have no peace of mind.”
“Then what do you want?”
“Please make me into a cat.”
“All right, become a cat.”
After a few days, the cat came to the saintly person and said, “My dear sir,
again I am in trouble.”
“What is that trouble?”
“The dogs are chasing me.”
“Then what do you want?”
“Make me a dog.”
“All right, become a dog.”
Then after a few days the dog
came and said, “Sir, again I
am in trouble.”
“What is the trouble?”
“The foxes are chasing me.”
“Then what do you want?”
“To become a fox.”
“All right, become a fox.”
Then the fox came and said, “Oh, tigers are chasing me.”
“Then what do you want?”
“I want to become a tiger.”
“All right, become a tiger.”
Now the tiger began to stare at the saintly person. “I shall eat you,” the tiger
said.
“Oh, you shall eat me? I have made you a tiger, and you want to eat me!”

“Yes, I am a tiger, and now I shall eat you.”
Then the saintly person cursed him: “Again become a rat!”
And the tiger became a rat.
So, our human civilization is like this. The other day I was reading the
World Almanac. It said that within the next hundred years people will be
living underground—like rats. Scientific advancement has created the
atomic bomb to kill men, and when it will be used people will have to go
underground and become like rats. From tiger to rat. That is going to happen;
it is nature’s law.
If you defy the laws of your state, you will be put into difficulty. Similarly,
if you continue to defy the authority of the Supreme Lord, you will suffer.
Again you will become rats. As soon as the atomic bombs explode, all
civilization on the surface of the globe will be finished. You may not like to
think about these things—you may regard them as very unpalatable—but
these are the facts.
Satyam grihyat priyam gtihan ma priyah satyam apriyam It is a social
convention that if you want to speak the truth, then you should speak it very
palatably. But we are not meant for social convention. We are preachers,
servants of God, and we must speak the real truth … whether you like it or
not. 

Just as Vedic culture advises “looking to the feet” to find the truth (from a sadhu or
elder), so astrology’s hidden secrets are found in the 12th sign that rules the feet.

Pisces, the Final Sign of the Zodiac

Abhaya Mudra Dasi
Pisces or Mina, the twelfth sign of the fishes, sits at the
end of the zodiac. It is the most overlooked,
misunderstood and disregarded sign due to its
remoteness or even due to its perceived insignificance. Pisces rules the feet
which is a part of the lowest and most humble part of the body, and which
seldom attracts much attention. Generally most people are attracted to a
bright face, a broad chest, a slender waist line, shapely hips, or even the
length of the legs. But the feet stay mostly hidden inside shoes and out of the
eyes of curious observers.

But the Vedic tradition, wherein the feet of a superior personality are
worshiped, is quite apart from the sensual materialist’s point of view. The
feet are the foundation of the entire structure of body.
Interestingly, fractural damage to the feet can result in
an imbalance of the whole skeletal system which leads
to compression of vital organs and can lead to
dangerous diseases.
Doctors often look for physiological problems where
they have manifested rather than seeking the problem in
the foundation of the body. A foot massage gives rejuvenation to the whole
body. Like the hands, the feet have unique, individual marks that show the
personality of the holder.
The feet represent the foundation of the entire society. Belonging to the
watery triad, Brihaspati-ruled Pisces is a brahminical sign. When genuine
brahmanas, who are detached from materialistic aspirations, are worshipped
society becomes stable and the whole world moves in the right spiritual
direction.
The venerable Shukracharya, guru of the demon and presiding deity of the
planet Venus, is praised by Lord Shri Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita (10.37):
kavinam ushana kavih: “Among great thinkers I am Ushana (Shukracharya).
Shrila Prabhupada describes him as “spiritual in every way.” Shukra, who
becomes exalted in the sign of Pisces, is also known as the deity of loving
relationships. Shri Shukracharya himself states in his Shukra-niti that the
most important knowledge is that of common sense or niti-shastra. After
describing every other body of wisdom in a nutshell, Shukra sums them all
up by advising, “Watch where you place your foot.” Only such common
sense can ensure that life is preserved and progress can be made in the
precious human form of life. Thus niti, or watching where one steps, is one
of the domains of the feet, Pisces or the brahmanas. In this way what seems
unimportant or of little interest to most people is actually the foundation of
wisdom. Unfortunately, modern society has lost its foundation in spiritual
understanding and teeters from one side to the other.
The three nakshatras in Pisces are Purvabhadra, Uttarabhadra and Revati.
Their symbols are three powerful animals: the lion, the cow and the elephant
who represent royalty, purity and wisdom. In the present age of degradation
and conflict we do not often find many famous personalities born under

these three nakshatras. The Piscean individual usually prefers to
allegorically “remain hidden in the shoe.”
Nonetheless, it is significant to note that the present equinox is located in the
constellation of Uttarabhadra and this fact is a testimony that spiritual
progress is slowly taking place. And as with everything in Pisces, some
things are done in secrecy but the result would be seen in the future age of
Aquarius. 

In the Vana Parva of the Mahabharata, Shrila
Vyasadeva narrates of a visit to the exiled Pandavas by
Lord Shri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and His Queen
Satyabhama. Queen Satyabhama’s conversation with Queen Draupadi serves
as a most important shastric instruction on the subject of the duties of a
chaste wife.
Probably the most important aspect of astrology is matching the horoscopes
of two candidates in marriage. But once the charts have been matched and
the marriage performed, it is up to the bride and the groom to act in such a
way so as to make a success of the relationship. Astrology is the allegorical
fertile field and it is up to the person to till that field. In the important
conversation that follows, Draupadi—a part incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi
Herself—explains the wife’s duties through her own example and through
her instructions to Queen Satyabhama. Apparently the wisdom of the old
adage is eternal: “Man may work from sun to sun, but woman’s work is
never done!” –Ed.
Draupadi-Satyabhama Samvada
Section CCXXXI (231)
Vaishampayana said, “After those brahmanas and the illustrious sons of
Pandu had taken their seats, Draupadi and Satyabhama entered the hermitage.
With their hearts full of joy, the two queens laughed merrily and seated

themselves at their ease. And, O King, those ladies, having met after a long
time and who always spoke sweetly to each other, began to discuss various
delightful topics concerning the Kurus and the Yadus.
“The slender-waisted Satyabhama, the daughter of Satrajit and the favorite
wife of Lord Shri Krishna, then asked Draupadi in private, saying, ‘By what
behaviour is it, O daughter of King Drupada, that you are able to rule the
sons of Pandu—those five heroes who are as strong and beautiful as the
Lokapalas, the guardians of the universe, themselves? Beautiful lady, how is
it that they are so obedient to you and never become angry with you?

‘O you of lovely features, without a doubt the sons of Pandu are always
submissive to you and are ever vigilant to perform your bidding! Do tell me,
O pious lady, what the reason for this is. Do you practice specific vows or
perform certain acts of penance? Do you chant magic incantations or induce
them with intoxicants at the time of their bath? Do you have knowledge of
certain scientific formulas by which you have brought your husbands under
your control? Perhaps it is your youthful appearance that they are attracted
to? Do you recite certain mantras or perform homas by which you have
made them so obedient? Or could it be the eye shadow you wear? I wish to
learn, O princess of Panchala, which auspicious acts you perform so that, my
husband Lord Krishna may always be obedient towards me.’”
“When the celebrated Queen Satyabhama had spoken, the chaste and blessed
daughter of King Drupada answered, ‘You have asked me, O Satyabhama,

of the practices of women who are wicked. How can I answer you, O lady,
about the means that are pursued by wicked wives? It does not become you,
O chaste lady, to pursue such questions. Neither should you doubt me, after I
explain everything. Indeed, you are endued with high intelligence and you
are the favorite wife of Shri Krishna.
‘When the husband learns that his wife has become addicted to incantations
and drugs in order to control him, from that very moment he begins to dread
her like some poisonous serpent sleeping in his bed room. And can a man
who is troubled by fear of his own wife have any peace? And how can one
who has no peace have any happiness?
‘A husband can never be made obedient by his wife’s incantations. We hear
of painful diseases being transmitted by enemies. Indeed, persons who desire
to kill their enemies send poisons in the shape of customary gifts such as
certain powders. In that way the victim who takes the powders so sent, either
by his mouth or by rubbing it onto his body, quickly perishes. Similarly,
such wicked wives who always tread upon the path of sin, sometimes injure
their husbands by these means. By the methods you describe, some women
have even caused their husbands to become afflicted with dropsy, leprosy
feebleness and impotence Such behavior has caused husbands to become
blind or deaf or even to go insane. But no proper wife ever causes the least
injury to her lord.
‘O illustrious lady, hear from me of the behaviour that I adopt towards the
high-souled sons of Pandu. Keeping aside vanity, and controlling selfish
desire and wrath, I always devotedly serve the sons of Pandu along with
their wives. I restrain any feelings of jealousy and serve them with devotion
deep in my heart. I wait upon my husbands without any sense of degradation
at the menial services I perform. I am always afraid of saying anything that
is evil or false. I fear looking or sitting or walking with impropriety. I never
cast any glance that indicates the feelings of my heart. In this way I serve the
sons of Pritha—those mighty warriors who are blazing like the sun and
bright as fire. My husbands are as handsome as the Moon, blessed with
fierce energy and prowess, and capable of slaying their foes by the mere
glance of the eye. My heart is attracted to serve none else, neither man nor
demigod, nor Gandharva. I am not attracted to serve another whether he is
youthful or bedecked with costly ornaments. I have no attraction for one
who is either wealthy or handsome.’

‘Queen Draupadi continued: ‘I never bathe, eat or sleep until my husband
has bathed, eaten or slept—in fact, not until our attendants have bathed,
eaten, or slept. Whether they are returning from the field, the forest, or the
town, I hastily rise up and always affectionately greet my husband with
water and a seat. I always keep the house and all household articles and the
food that is to be taken well-ordered and clean. I carefully keep the rice and
kitchen, and serve the food at the proper time.’
‘I never indulge in any angry and fretful speech. Neither do I ever imitate the
ways of wicked women. Keeping idleness and laziness at a distance, I
always perform acts that are agreeable. I never allow myself to laugh except
at a joke, and never tarry for any length of time at the house-gate. I never
stay long in places for answering calls of nature or bathing, neither in the
pleasure-gardens attached to the house. I always refrain from laughing
loudly and indulging in excessive passion. I do not perform any activity
whatsoever that might be construed as offensive.
‘Indeed, O Satyabhama, I am always engaged in waiting upon my lords and
any separation from them is never agreeable to me. When my husbands
leave home for the sake of visiting any relative, then at that time I renounce
lowers and fragrant pastes of every type, and I begin to undergo penances.
‘I never consider anything that my husbands do not drink, and I avoid
whatever my husbands do not eat. O beautiful lady, decked in ornaments and
ever controlled by the instructions imparted to me, I devotedly seek the good
of my lords. I perform all the duties that my mother-in-law has instructed me.
These include offering respect to our relatives, giving in charity, offering
worship to the Supreme Lord, offering oblations to the deceased, and boiling
food in pots on auspicious days for offering to ancestors. I receive all guests
with reverence and gratefully serve all those who deserve our regards.
Whatever else that is known to me I always discharge both by day and by
night, and without idleness or sloth of any kind.
‘With whole hearted recourse to humility and with obedience to the
approved rules, I serve my meek and truthful lords. I remain ever observant
of the rules of virtue even while regarding them as poisonous vipers capable
of becoming excited at a trifle. I never deviate from thinking that eternal
virtue for women is based upon her regard for her husband.
‘The husband is the wife’s god and there is no other refuge for her. How can,
then, the wife do even the least injury to her lord? Never, while sleeping or
eating or performing any service, do I act against the wishes of my lords.

Always guided by my husbands, I never speak ill of my mother-in-law. O
blessed lady my husbands have become obedient to me in consequence of
my diligence, my readiness to serve them, and the humility with which I
show in serving my superiors.
‘I personally wait every day with food, drink and clothing upon the revered
and truthful Queen Kunti, the mother of the heroic Pandavas. Never do I
show any preference for myself over her in matters of food and attire. I
never reprimand that royal princess who is equal in forgiveness to the very
Earth mother herself.
‘Formerly, eight thousand brahmanas were fed daily on plates of gold in the
palace of King Yudhishthira. As well, eighty thousand grihasta brahmanas
of the Snataka sect were entertained by King Yudhishthira with thirty
serving-maids assigned to each one of them. Besides these, ten thousand
brahmachari yatis had their pure food carried unto them on plates of gold. I
used to worship all these brahmanas who were chanting Vedic mantras with
food, drink, and cloth taken
from stores only after a
portion thereof had been
dedicated to the Supreme
Lord.
‘King Yudhishthira, the
illustrious son of Kunti,
had a hundred thousand
well-dressed serving-maids
with bracelets on their
arms and golden ornaments
around their necks. Each
was profusely decked with costly garlands and golden necklaces, and
sprinkled with sandal paste. Adorned with jewels and gold, each was skilled
in the arts of singing and dancing. O Satyabhama, I knew the names and
features of each one of those girls, as also what they are and what they were,
and what they did not do.
‘Kunti’s son of vast intelligence also had a hundred thousand maid-servants
who daily used to feed guests, with plates of gold in their hands. And while
Yudhishthira lived in Indraprastha, one hundred thousand horses and one
hundred thousand elephants used to follow in his procession. These were the
vast possessions of Yudhishthira while he ruled over the earth. It was I

however, O Queen, who regulated their number and framed the rules to be
observed in respect of them. And it was I who had to listen to each one of
the complaints about them. Indeed, I knew everything about the maid-
servants of the palace. I even knew what the other classes of attendants, even
the cow-herds and the shepherds of the royal establishment did or did not do.
‘O blessed and illustrious lady, it was I alone amongst the Pandavas who
knew the income and expenditure of the King, as well as the extent of their
entire treasury. O beautiful Satyabhama, those bulls among the Bharatas,
throwing upon me the burden of looking after all those who were to be fed
by them, would pay their court to me. This was a heavy load which none of
evil heart could possibly bear. Yet I used to bear this encumbrance day and
night, sacrificing my own rest, and all the while affectionately devoted to my
husbands. And while my husbands were engaged in the pursuit of dharma, it
was I who kept their treasury inexhaustible like the ever-filled receptacle of
Varuna.
‘While bearing hunger and thirst, I constantly served the Kuru princes, in
such a way that my nights and days were equal to me. I used to arise first
and take rest last. These, O Queen Satyabhama, have always been my own
personal charms for insuring the obedience of my husbands. Never have I
practiced the charms of wicked women, nor do I ever wish to practice
them.’”
Vaishampayana continued, “Hearing those virtuous words uttered by
Krishnaa (Draupadi), Satyabhama, offered her respects to the virtuous
princess of Panchala and said, ‘O princess of Panchala, I have been guilty. O
daughter of Yajnasena, please forgive me! Among friends, conversations in
jest arise naturally and without premeditation.”
Section CCXXXII (232)
“Draupadi said, ‘I shall now indicate to you, for attracting the heart of your
husband in a way that is free from deceit. By adopting it duly, dear friend,
you will be able to draw away your Lord from other females. O Satyabhama,
in all the three worlds, including the heavenly planets of the demigods, there
is no god equal unto the husband. When he is gratified with you, you may
have from him every object of desire. When he is angry all these may be lost.
It is from her husband that the wife obtains offspring and various articles of
enjoyment. It is from your husband that you may have handsome beds and
seats, and robes and garlands, and perfumes, and great fame—and even
heaven itself hereafter.

‘No one can obtain happiness here by means that are easy. Indeed, the
woman who is chaste obtains weal with woe. Always adore your husband
Lord Krishna, therefore, with friendship and learn to accept physical
sufferings. Offer him a suitable place to sit, excellent garlands and various
scents. Give him prompt service in such a way that he becomes devoted to
you and thinks, “I am truly loved by her!” Hearing the voice of your Lord at
the gate, rise up from your seat, and remain in readiness within your room.
And as soon as He enters your chamber, worship Him by promptly offering
Him a seat and water to wash His feet. And even when He commands a
maidservant to do something, arise and do the task yourself. Let your Lord
Krishna understand this temper of your mind that He must know that you
adore him with all your heart. And, O Satyabhama—never share with
anyone else whatever your Lord tells you; even if it does not happen to be a
secret. That is because if any of your co-wives were to speak of this subject
to Vasudeva, then He might become irritated with you.
‘By every means within your power, feed all those who are dear and devoted
to your Lord. Always and at every step seek His good. You should, however,
always keep yourself aloof from evil persons who are hostile towards your
Lord. There is no sin even in seeking to do such persons injury, and the same
applies to those villains who are addicted to deceit.
‘Foregoing all excitement and carelessness in the presence of men, conceal
your inclinations by remaining silent. Do not tarry or converse in private
even with your own sons, Pradyumna and Samba. You should have
friendships only with such ladies who are high-bred and sinless, and who are
devoted to their lords. Always shun women who are wrathful, addicted to
enjoyment of the palate, gluttonous, dishonest, wicked and fickle. The
behaviour of the chaste wife is reputable and produces prosperity in the
household. The devotional mood of the chaste wife is capable of neutralizing
hostility and leads the family to heaven. Therefore, worship your husband by
dressing yourself in costly garlands and ornaments and wearing rich
unguents and fragrant perfumes.” 
