PHILOSOPHY OF CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT 2
To create a successful and productive classroom, there are procedures required to be put
into place. Much about classroom management is taking the strategic steps to produce an
effective plan- preferably on the first day of a new school year. Students typically respond well to
having a routine set early on in the year. This allows the students to know what is expected of
them throughout the course, and provides the teacher with the necessary control to maintain a
and techniques that will benefit the students and the teacher.
First and foremost, teachers should lay out the requirements, rules, and consequences to
the students. It is highly recommended that teachers give students the opportunity to collaborate
on these guidelines. Allowing students to share their input on classroom rules or procedures
gives them a sense of belonging and responsibility. Students can set their own expectations, as
long as they are approved by the teacher, which will help them to understand rules and
consequences. Doing so, will also aid the teacher in creating trust with the students, while still
holding control over the classroom. All the rules, routines, and consequences should be
consistent and should be enforced. These strategies are predominantly for preventing classroom
relationships and trust with the students. The classroom should be a warm and safe environment
for children of all different backgrounds and abilities. Teachers can create a sense of community
in the classroom by promoting collaboration and positive feedback. Students should be able to

learn from each other and interact with their peers as a means of learning. Many times, this is
done by teachers placing students into groups for collaborative discussions. While working
together is important, it is also crucial for students to receive positive reinforcement or feedback.
This allows the students to feel confident and safe to share their ideas or opinions in the
classroom. Likewise, the students can also be benefited from having their works or thoughts
Among the strategies already mentioned, there are numerous other significant ways for
teachers to improve classroom management. Year wide, creating expectations and trust within
the classroom is critical for teachers to do. However, more consistently, it is important to provide
interesting and engaging lessons for students each school day. It is a major responsibility of the
teacher to ensure that students remain informed and engaged in what they are learning daily. By
doing so, the teachers enable a classroom of active learning. Students will have better focus, and
likely better behavior, when they are constantly interested in what they are learning. Teachers
should aim to provide fun, interactive activities that keep students engaged at all times.
All in all, classroom management is all about getting the students to do what their teacher
needs them to do to learn. Starting on the first day of school each year, the teacher can ensure
that students are aware of the expectations, rules, and consequences set upon them. Even
allowing students to collaborate on the formation of the guidelines can be a great way to
establish their own sense of responsibility in the classroom. Furthermore, teachers should work
on building positive relationships consistently throughout the year. This will allow great
classroom management because the students will feel confident, safe, and respected in the
classroom. Thus, the students will maintain appropriate behavior and attitudes toward the teacher

with mutual respect. Lastly, the most simple and effective way to maintain classroom
management is to provide students with engaging lessons. To the benefit of the teacher, students
are more encouraged to learn when the curriculum and activities are interesting. Using all these
techniques, teachers can form a community of learners, and overall successful classroom
management .
