choose from:
1. Sensor Trace
1. These are the individual channels that Corva receives from the WITSML
stream
2. Corva Trace
1. These are Corva’s real-time, predicted values for traces such as
Hookload, ECD at Bit, Downhole MSE, and others
2. Corva traces will have a (P) at the beginning of the name
3. Roadmap Trace
1. Select this type to display parameters from Corva’s Driller’s Roadmap
2. Roadmap traces will have an (R) at the beginning of the name
4. Trace App
1. Display the real-time Mud Weight Window or Toolface Accuracy. This
feature only works when Depth-Based Mode is selected
i. Mud Weight Window is only available in Corva if the pressure
gradient curves are provided by the customer
Traces Track Customization
After selecting a trace, users can customize how that trace is displayed. Customization
features include:
 Units
o Select the desired units you’d like a trace to be displayed in. “Convert
From” should be set to the units assigned to a given trace in the WITSML
store. “Convert To” allows you to change the displayed units to whatever
you’d like to see them in
 Color
o Choose from a list of colors for a given trace
 Scale
o Designate the min and max displayed values for a given trace. Auto Scale
can also be selected
 Alerts
o Select this option if you’d like to set up alerts for a given trace. If values
fall outside of the user-defined min and max, the traces track will turn red
or orange
 Red if values exceed the defined max value
 Orange if values fall below the defined min value
 Traces alerts are independent of Corva’s alerts system and will
not notify you outside of the traces app
 Offset Well
o Display traces from an offset well based on depth
 Line Style and Width
o Choose from Solid, Dotted, and Dashed Options
o Set line width between 1-5
 Fill Graph
o Shade the traces column for a given track
 Show as Value Band
o Display a given trace as a value band, with reference to another trace
track
 Set the lower and upper bound of the value band as the
difference in the real-time values
 Select the Target Trace that this value band will be compared
to. Target Traces must be within the same column as the value
band, and are numbered from top to bottom
 If the difference between the value band and the target trace is
greater than the defined upper and lower bounds, the remaining
area between these two traces will be shaded in red
 The value band trace will have a (B) in front of the name
Zooming
High-frequency zooming allows users to isolate the time interval they’re interested in, down
to a 30 second window. Zooming can be done in one of four ways:
1. Using the + and – magnifying glass icons on the left hand side of the traces app
2. Clicking and dragging the start and end times on the timeline slider, located on the
left hand side of the traces app
