Parameters

3.2 In the operating mode contact

The desired final concentration can be entered here in ppm.
This parameter is recalculated if the metering volume per contact is
modified.

3.2.1.1 Metering output in percent / operating

mode contact
The percentage metering output can be set between 0.5 % and
100 % of the pump capacity.
If contact is shown, a small “m” is additionally indicated in the
display, if on the one hand the memory function (memory) is
activated and contacts are present in the memory for execution on
the other hand. If no contacts are present for execution, no small
“m” is shown.

3.2.1 Metering volume per contact (VOLUM)

The metering volume per contact can be set here in ml per contact.
This parameter is recalculated if the final concentration is modified.

3.2.2 Pulse spacing factor (FACTOR)

The pulse spacing can be set here in litres per contact.
10.0 e.g. Means 10 litres per contact.

Parameters

3.3 Operating modes

3.3.1 Operating mode contact

In contact operation without memory function (memory), the set
metering volume (volum) is executed with the set metering output
(0.5 % - 100 %). All contacts which are sent to the pump during
the conditions:

- Pump in pause
- Pump meters
- Pump stopped
- Pump without power supply
- Pump in error condition

Are lost.

If the memory function (memory) is activated, all contacts, which

are sent to the pump during metering, are saved and executed.
The saved contacts can be deleted by deactivating the memory
function or changing to another operating mode.

Behaviour of the pump in contact / frequency operation with

activated memory function:
If the memory function (memory) is activated, the pump goes from
contact operation (<0.2 hz) to frequency operation (>0.4 hz)
depending on the input frequency. In contact operation, the
contacts are executed according to the set metering volume and
the set metering output.
In frequency operation, the input frequency corresponds to an
adjustable metering output, thus the maximum metering output is
reached at a frequency of 3 hz (180 l/min) with a factor of 1.0.
Only if the limit of 0.2 hz is undershot, the system goes again from
frequency operation to contact operation.

Parameters

The following diagram explains the behaviour of the pump in

contact / frequency operation.

The pump is prepared for operation with contact water meter and
has 100 % of its metering output at a contact frequency of 3 hz
(180 contacts/min). The contact frequency at which the pump
works with an output of 100 % can be changed using the
parameter “factor”.
E.g. Given a factor of 1.5, the maximum metering output is already
reached at 2 h. Or, given a factor of 0.1, maximum metering is only
reached at 30 hz. See also the following table.

Frequency (hz) factor

1.0 1.5 0.5
0.2 6.7 % 10.0 % 3.3 %
0.3 10.0 % 15.0 % 5.0 %
0.4 13.3 % 20.0 % 6.6 %
0.5 16.7 % 25.0 % 8.3 %
0.6 20.0 % 30.0 % 10.0 %
1 33.3 % 50.0 % 16.6 %
2 66.7 % 100 % 33.3 %
3 100 % 100 % 50.0 %
4 100 % 100 % 66.7 %
5 100 % 100 % 83.3 %
6 100 % 100 % 100 %
10 100 % 100 % 100 %

Parameters

After deactivating the contact frequency, the pump executes the

contacts in the memory with the max. Achieved frequency.
The last contact is again executed (contact operation) with the set
percentage, however only for a maximum of 3 seconds; then the
pump is stopped and all remaining contacts are deleted.
For the frequency operation, it is recommended to select a
metering volume and contact frequency (contact %) as small as
possible to achieve a short trailing after switching off the frequency.

Led function
In contrast to the operating modes manual and analog, the device
led flashes with each contact signal. A contact frequency > 10hz
cannot be correctly detected by the eye; thus the flashing
frequency above 10hz is only a sign that contact signals are
received.

Maximum limit frequency

Limit frequency= max. 10khz; signal width min. 0.4usec
A maximum of 100,000 contact signals can be stored. An error
message (“extern limit !) is displayed if more contact signals arrive
and the pump stops.

3.3.2 Service
3.3.2.1 REVERSE-TIME (only for application
“ACTIV.CARBON”)
In this menu, the motor can be reversed manually (counter-
clockwise rotation). Given a reverse running time of 0 seconds, the
motor moves as long as both arrow keys are pressed. If a running
time greater than 0 seconds is set, the motor moves for the set
time. The reverse running time can be changed using both arrow
keys. The remaining time is indicated on the display. The reverse
running can be interrupted by pressing the p key. The system then
goes to the next menu option.
In manual reverse running, the service interval counter will not be
increased.

Parameters / Metering operation

3.3.2.2 REV.-INTERVAL (only for application

“ACTIV.CARBON”)
The service intervals are set using the reverse interval time. It is
specified here at which time interval the reverse running (flushing
process) is to be repeated.
Note
A delay of one minute is built in which prevents a reverse
running interval directly after starting the pump; it is thus
ensured that the pump meters at least for one minute after
being switched on.

3.3.2.3 REVERSE FREQ. (Only for application

“ACTIV.CARBON”)
The speed with which the pump runs in reverse (counter-clockwise
rotation) can be set here. It is, however, recommended to set the
maximum speed to better remove any deposits.

4 Metering operation

4.1 Backflushing / service interval

(only “activated carbon”)
The pump facilitates automatic backflushing to remove any
deposits in the hose.
During an automatic backflushing service, the present metering is
interrupted and the system is flushed for the set time (reverse-time)
(the pump reverses). After the backflushing time, the system is
automatically primed for 6 seconds to suction the activated carbon
again.
