Solution: Given , 𝑥 = 𝑎(𝜃 + 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝜃), 𝑦 = 𝑎(1 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃)

Now, = 𝑎(1 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃), = −𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑛𝜃.

Now, + = 𝑎 (1 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃) +𝑎 𝑠𝑖𝑛 𝜃 = 𝑎√2√1 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃 = 2𝑎𝑐𝑜𝑠𝜃/2

Total length = ∫ + 𝑑𝜃 = ∫ 2𝑎 𝑐𝑜𝑠 𝑑𝜃 = 4𝑎 𝑠𝑖𝑛 = 8𝑎.
