teach ESP subjects. It quitely challenging for me since I know that teachers are busy. I message one of my grade 9 ESP teacher and I asked her permission if I can interview her regarding the methods and strategies she use to assess her students. She said that she use formative assessment during the discussions to strengthen the lessons such as recitations, reporting, debate and movie analysis. She said that it helps her to assess the students engagement to her lessons. Moreover, she use summative assessment to test if her students learned something from the discussion and she use quarterly and final exams, group projects, and portfolios to assess her students at the end of the semester. Also, I asked her about the appropriate assessment that she do to assess her students, she use the peer- assessment, self-assessment, and quizzes. I asked her why and her response is that they should know the effort they give to their activities and they honestly grade their self. Through this, I have an idea on how to include my students on the assessment. However, I asked the teacher also about the ina- appropriate assessment, she does not have inappropriate things to do on her students but she told me that it is not okay to not give feedback on students activities and performances and not giving them an enough grade. It gave me a time to reflect that in order for us to validate our students performances, we need to appreciate their outputs and give them the appreciation because they came from diverse cultures. Additionally, I collaborated with my partner in demo teaching and we summarized the answers that we collected. It seems that the teachers that we interviewed has almost the same answers given that they are both ESP teachers. This activity gave me an insights that as a teacher, we should be mindful to our students background to know what assessments they need to do to be inclusive and there were no students left behind.
