1. Only 30.8% of people survived on Titanic

2. Titanic sank at 2:20 am, April 15th 1912.

3. It took 3 years to build Titanic

4. The Titanic was a massive ship—882 feet long, 92 feet wide, and weighing 52,310
tons.

5. The Titanic carried only 20 lifeboats, which could accommodate about half the people
aboard.

6. On the night of sinking the water temperature was about 28°F (-2°C).

7. The original number of lifeboats were 32, but the White Star Line (shipping line) was
the one to remove 12 of them.

8. By definition, the word “titanic” means monumental, gigantic, or colossal.

9. The highest percentage of victims were steerage, or "third cabin" passengers.

10. At the time, Titanic was the largest ever movable man-made object.

For my data visualization I will compare the size of Titanic to many of the modern ships, cars,
and other transportations.

Titanic - 882 feet long

Football field - 360 feet long (2.45 times)

Commercial airplane - 145 feet long (about 6 times)

Statue of liberty (with pedestal) - 305 feet long (about 2.9 times)
Modern Cruise ship - 1,000 feet long
