RESOLUTION NO. 2023-23

A RESOLUTION CONCURRING THE APPOINTMENT OF LORNA O. QUILAL-LAN
AS BARANGAY NUTRITION SCHOLAR OF BARANGAY QUILING NORTE, CITY OF
BATAC, ILOCOS NORTE
(Sponsored by: SBM ARNOLFO R. MANIBOG)

WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 1569 (1979) mandated the deployment of at least
one (1) BNS in every barangay in the country to monitor the nutritional status of children and
other nutritionally at-risk groups and link them with nutrition and nutrition-related service
providers;
WHEREAS, the new set of elected Barangay Officials during the 2023 Barangay and SK
Elections on October 30, 2023 assumed office on the noon of November 30, 2023;
WHEREAS, Memorandum Circular No. 2010-147 and Republic Act No. 7883 provides
the appointment of Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, and Barangay Day
Care Worker by the Punong Barangay with the concurrence of the majority of the Sangguniang
Barangay Members;

WHEREAS, the Punong Barangay presented the appointment of LORNA O. QUILAL-

LAN as continuing Barangay Nutrition Scholar for concurrence by the Sangguniang
Barangay Members after considering her integrity and qualifications respectively;
WHEREFORE, on motion of SBM Arnolfo R. Manibog and duly seconded by the rest of
the Sangguniang Barangay Members present, be it;

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay

Quiling Norte to concur the appointment of LORNA O. QUILAL-LAN as Barangay Nutrition
Scholar of this Barangay;

 RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to the DILG Office,
City Health Office, CNAO and all other office concerned for their information, guidance and
record purposes;

APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY by the Sangguniang Barangay Members, this 3rd day of

December, 2023.
