1. Research Title
The use of media between self-control and procrastination among children and adolescence.
2. Narrate results of stakeholders’ interviews to support existence of the problems for research.
One of the results of lacking self-control is procrastination, which is defined as the deliberate delay
of a planned, necessary, and/or personally important action despite the possibility that the delay
would have more detrimental effects than advantageous ones. It is very usual for people to
procrastinate, which tremendously disturbs both individuals and society. Numerous studies have
demonstrated that procrastinating has a number of detrimental repercussions, especially in
adolescents. Therefore, it is important to investigate the causes of procrastination. Addiction to
screens can lead to negative social, physical, and behavioral consequences. The many negative
effects that users' excessive screen time may have on themselves and others drew attention to this
topic in studies on human-machine interactions that are addictive. Few research, particularly among
adolescents, have focused on screen addiction. According to earlier research, adolescent behavior
addictions to smartphones, the internet, video, and online gaming are highly common. These
studies' findings are likely restricted to the platforms or devices that were the subject of the study,
and as a result, the perspectives they provide are constrained in how well they represent the multi-
screen environment. Considering screen addiction in study will produce more thorough results
because it encompasses all addiction kinds.
3. Briefly cite authors and their statements to support your problem which are your compelling
reasons for the study.
Zhang ,2019 – Procastination, which greatly troubled individuals and society, is exrtremely
common.
Kadzikowska-Wrzosek, 2020 – Many research showed that procrastination is linked to a variety of
negative effects, particularly among adolescents.
Balhara, 2018 – Screen addiction refers to a problematic and dependent attitude to a range of screen
activities.
Saritepeci, 2021 – People who use several screens tend to lose control and develop behavioral
addiction.
1. Media Literacy Education- Implement comprehensive media literacy programs in schools and at
home because it can educate young individuals about the persuasive techniques and potential harms
of media, enabling them to make informed choices.
2. Parental Involvement- Parents play a crucial role in guiding their childrens’s media consumption.
They can set limits, model responsible media use, and it can engage in open discussions with their
children about the content they’re exposed to.
3. Time Management Skills- Teach children and adolescents time management skills. This can help
them to allocate time for productive activities and leisure, reducing the likelihood and
procrastination.
4.Setting boundares- This can help create a balance between media use and other responsibilities. It
can establish clear guidelines on screen time, both in terms of duration and timing.
5. Mental Health Support- Offer support for mental health issues, as excessive media use can be
linked to underlying emotional or psychological problems. Providing resources and counseling can
be essential.
5. List bibliographic entries of scientific articles that support on your title.
