the course site. Students are allowed to open documents including statistics books, lecture notes,
practicum modules, except communication media and AI tools.

1. Bayu, an engineer, wants to study the relationship between room temperature and the number
of production defects it causes. To predict the number of production defects if the room
temperature is not controlled, Bayu then collected data for 15 days on the room temperature and
the number of production defects. From the results of existing observations, the following is the
data obtained by Bayu for 15 days:
Day Room temperature Number of defects
1 24 10
2 22 5
3 21 6
4 20 3
5 22 6
6 19 4
7 20 5
8 23 9
9 24 11
10 25 13
11 21 7
12 20 4
13 20 6
14 19 3
15 25 12

From the data, help Bayu to carry out the following testing and analysis activities:
a) Determine the dependent and independent variables from the case above!
b) Arrange the hypothesis!
c) Do a model test (coefficient of determination)! Explain and analyze the results of the
model tests that you carried out!
d) Write the regression equation resulting from the case above!
e) Carry out a hypothesis test and provide an interpretation!
2. Ms. Jennie, a Marketing Manager for ONTHEL brand folding bicycle products, wants to know
whether product quality (x1), service quality (x2), and price (x3) influence customer satisfaction
(y). The analysis model can be seen in the image below.

Product
quality (x1)

Customer
Service satisfaction
quality (x2) (y)

Price (x3)

The following table shows the value of each variable with a total of 30 respondents:

Help Ms. Jennie to carry out the following testing and analysis activities:
a) Arrange the right hypothesis for the case above!
b) Test the classic assumptions in the case above! Interpret!
c) Do a model test! Explain and analyze the results of the model tests (coefficient of
determination or R2) that you carried out!
d) Write the regression equation resulting from the case above!
e) Do a hypothesis test and provide an interpretation!
f) Help Ms. Jennie make recommendations to increase customer satisfaction.
