Puan Aminah was scrubbing the floor

in her son’s room. She saw a belt lying under her son’s
bed. Just as she was going to pick it up, it moved. It was
not a belt. It was a snake. She screamed and ran out of the

room shouting ‘snake! Snake!’

Wafi, her son rushed to the room with his hockey stick.

The snake was moving slowly towards the

door. He hit it hard many times. The snake stopped
moving. It was a long, black snake. It looked like a cobra.
It was a poisonous snake. Luckily Puan Aminah had not
picked it up. If she had, the snake would have bitten her.
Later, Wafi buried the snake in his backyard. He then
cleared all the bushes. He made sure there was no hiding
place for any snakes.
