As the time passes, human being regularly and
consistently climbs the ladder of advancement
and development. Homo-sapiens have achieved
so many goals in the world of artificial
intelligence, in order to modernize the society.
These all achievements aren't possible sans the
paramount role played by the higher education,
that is university education, in compatible
environment with field. However, unfortunately,
in our country, there is still outdated form of
university education system, which is not able to
contribute to the modernization and
development of society, owing to the large gap
between academia and field that could be
possibly bridged, by doing some amendments in
compliance with international standard.
The most perilous problem, Pakistan is facing
now is the lower quality higher level education.
(As I’m a university level student, I still
remember my teacher words, he used to say that,
in schools, teacher teaches 95% course to
students while remaining 5% the students are
doing it for themselves, then in college level,
percentage become equal, like 50/50, and in
university level, it becomes contrary to school
level, 5%, teacher teaches to you while 95%,
students do it for themselves). Moreover, when
quantity becomes greater than the demand in
market, the quality will automatically be
compromised. Like, we can see, majority of
students of university are scrambling for jobs,
right after their graduation. They stumble when
enter to field, because of their incognizance with
the field environment. Furthermore, the most
important problem, that needs to be addressed
on urgent basis is, lack of check and balance on
teaching staff as well as on students. Similarly,
in Pakistan, most of the universities are working
as autonomous bodies in terms of their financial,

administration and in examination system. They
don't have a collective board, like matric and
intermediate level. Contrary to other fields if we
look up to medical field, so it has a centralized
examination system, merely few percent marks
are allocated for teacher, who is teaching that
particular subject. Due to the prevalence of such
system bigotry has vanished among students and
teachers.
It's highly pertinent to mention that, now a days,
we can witness the development of India, our
neighboring country, that happens in a very fast
pace. Their Doctors and Engineers have been
eulogized worldwide. The main reason behind
their success is the quality education that has
been given in higher level and most importantly
the compatibility between academia and field.
Nevertheless, to improve the quality of higher
education system, it needs to address the above
mistakes in university level. The gap between
academia and field should be bridged by making
the students cognizance to field amid their
university classes. The one board and one exam
policy should be formulated for all the
universities in order to fill the vacuum between
private and government universities education
level. Moreover, stern rules must be formulated
for teaching staff as well as administration.
