RICARDO PALMA

"Ricardo Palma, famous Peruvian writer and

journalist.

He was born on February 7, 1833, in Lima, Peru.

Ricardo Palma passed away on October 6, 1919.

One of the important things he did was pursuing a

prolific writing career. Palma is best known for his

collection of traditional Peruvian stories titled

'Peruvian Traditions' ('Tradiciones Peruanas').

These stories blended history and folklore,

preserving the rich cultural heritage of Peru.

Another significant contribution he made was in his work as a journalist. Palma founded

and edited various newspapers and magazines, using his platform to advocate for social

and political issues of his time, contributing to intellectual and literary discussions in Peru.

Additionally, he played a role in the promotion of Peruvian literature, helping to establish

a strong literary tradition in the country."
