Hello everyone,

In this video the DNA Identification Act of 1994 is being used where the establishment of DNA
identification records of persons convicted of crimes, analyses of DNA samples recovered from
crime scenes, and analyses of DNA samples recovered from unidentified human
remains. (OIG Audit Report, 2006)On April 10, 2009, Alonzo King Jr. was arrested for waving
his gun at a group of people and for having a 12-gauge shotgun in his car and charged him with
assault, In Maryland there's a law called the DNA collection Act where police get the authority to
collect DNA samples and put them into a database prior to convictive them, police get a sample
of Kings DNA, and it is matched with an unsolved rape case that happened on September 23,
2003, later King went to trial for the rape case. King filed a motion to block the DNA evidence
from being used in court, saying it violated his Fourth Amendment saying the DNA swab fell
under unreasonable search and seizure. The judge denied his motion, which he was sentence to
life in prison. Later King appealed to the Maryland Court of Appeals, who reversed the
conviction, saying it did go against the Fourth Amendment.
