Dear Ms. Susan Jacques and the Board of Governors,
I am very grateful to you for giving me a scholarship.
Unfortunately, as of today, I cannot use the GIA scholarship provided to me. The fact is that I do not
have enough £3,000 to buy the "Graduate Colored Stone" course. It is not realistic for me to collect
such an amount now. But I am grateful to you for your help and I want to thank you again for your
confidence in me.

2022 GIA SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO ACCEPT
• Submit the Acceptance/Declination form by June 12, 2022. Please compose "Thank
You Letter" in the provided textbox, and address the letter to the donor/organization
listed below.
Donor Name: Ms. Susan Jacques and the Board of Governors
Organization: Gemological Institute of America
• We highly recommend retaining a copy of the award letter after submitting the
acceptance form.

HOW TO DECLINE
• Submit the Declination form by June 12, 2022, and provide a reason why you are
declining the scholarship.

HOW TO ENROLL
• Submit a GIA Admissions Application and indicate you are using a GIA scholarship in
the Financial Information section.
• The Admissions Department will review your application in 1-3 business days. Once
your application is approved:
• Distance Education students can self-register for an eLearning course through the
MyGIA Student Portal.
• On-Campus Program and Lab Class students will be contacted by an Admissions
Representative regarding availability in the preferred start date.
• Visit the GIA Education Catalog or GIA Website for information about course
descriptions, admissions requirements, etc.
• Contact the local campus Admissions team for any questions regarding your GIA
Admissions Application.
• For current students, contact the Online Support team at OnlineSupport@GIA.edu for
any issues with logging into MyGIA Student Portal.
