An opportunity has arisen for an individual with strong financial background, capable of multi-tasking, analytically reviewing data and processes to identify issues and potential improvements, with sound reporting, time management, communication and presentation skills. The position requires extensive interaction with business management, the Risk team and the internal control functions. Key responsibilities of this New York based role will be risk management support for Liquidity Solutions in WHEM, and will include the following:Responsible for assisting with the execution of Liquidity Risk Management objectives.Responsible for thoroughly understanding business policies, procedures and standards from a risk manager's perspective.Plays a critical, independent role in the assessment of risks and controls to key business objectives.Performs analyses and assists with the development of solutions to identified issues/control gaps.Maintains a trusting and respectful relationship with business unit management teams to create an open environment for risk identification and resolution.Creates and drive a culture of risk awareness within the businesses. Typical job duties include:Review existing transactions, processes and procedures from a risk management perspective, and assist in implementing new procedures as needed.Administer the Phoenix Risk application and provide guidance on content. Provide reporting & metrics on key risk issues, and assist with ensuring timely resolution of action plans.Assist businesses to identify, escalate and quantify loss events.Assist in coordination of New Business Initiative Approvals (NBIAs).Participate in deep dives and end-to-end reviews on specific areas and provide a risk-based opinion.Ad-hoc Risk Management project support Qualifications Bachelor's Degree.3 years of banking and relevant risk management experience is preferred.Excellent PC skills, including MS PowerPoint, Excel and Access.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Analytical with attention to detail and strong problem solving skillsSelf-starter capable of working in a time sensitive environment.Working understanding of Operational Risk and the Phoenix system preferred.Understanding of Liquidity & Core Cash products would be a strong plus.Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have necessary skills and experience.
