Adjective
An adjective is a word that describes a
noun or pronoun such as person, place,
thing, or idea.
An adjective can tell color, shape,
size, taste, sound, number, weather
etc..
An adjective gives more information about a
noun or pronoun by answering one of these
questions.
What which one? How many?

DescriPtive adjectives

are any adjectives that are used to


describe the appearance or meaning
of an object or a noun in a sentence.
Example:
1. He is adorable because of his dedication
to science.

2. Christmas is such a joyful occasion.

3. A child's broken bones come together


easily.
LIMITING ADJECTIVES
are adjectives that restrict or limit a
noun or pronoun.

Definite and indifinite article

The indefinite article "a and an" is used when we


don’t specify the things or people we are talking
about.

Example:
She works in a bank in London
Definite and indifinite article
The definite article the is used before a noun,
it specifies a particular noun as opposed to
any one.

Example:
The cat shut its eyes while it steals cream.
Demonstrative adjectives

A demonstrative adjective describes “which”


noun or pronoun you’re referring to. It
includes the demonstrative pronouns this,
these, that, and those.
Example:
That cake has an unusual flavor.
Possesive adjectives
Possessive adjectives show possession. They
describe to whom a thing belongs.
It includes the pronouns my, your, his, its, our,
and their.
Example:
What is your phone number?
indifinite adjectives
An adjective which is not definite is known
as the indefinite adjective. It includes the
indefinite pronouns many, some, more,
other, any, less, little, much.

Example:

Many people feel that the law should be changed.


Proper adjectives
An adjective that is formed from a proper noun is
called proper adjective.

I like Japanese food.
