Our planet is so full of

it's almost too hard to
choose which ones we want
to see in our lifetime.
Unfortunately, we might
never be able to see some of
them. Famous areas around
the world are in danger
disappearing—and fast.
The Great Barrier Reef
Coral bleaching is a huge
problem for Australia's Great
Barrier Reef. The organisms
can only handle so much heat—
and as our planet's
temperatures rise, the coral
begins to overheat, causing it
to bleach and die.
Amazon Rainforest
People have been deforesting
the Amazon for a long time
now, trying to make room for
rubber plantations, palm oil
trees, and land for livestock to
graze. While most of the
rainforest has disappeared at
the hands of humans, the area
is still in danger due to climate
change—something that
deforestation actually causes.
Due to the effects of climate
change, development,
and tourism, some of our
very favourite
world landmarks and places
are slowly dying, and they
might soon be gone forever.

Congo Basin, Congno
Africa's Congo Basin is one of
the world's largest rainforests,
but it's slowly becoming
smaller. According to
a study conducted by
researchers at the University of
Maryland, the forest has lost an
area of the rainforest as big as
Bangladesh in the past 15
years. Small-scale
deforestation is the biggest
threat to the world's second
largest rainforest, and it may
disappear sooner than we
think.
The Snows of Kilimanjaro,
Tanzania
The tallest mountain in Africa,
Mount Kilimanjaro is famous
for its snow-capped peaks—but
those might disappear by 2030
due to climate change. While
the mountain isn't going
anywhere soon, the
picturesque white peaks may
very well be a thing of the past
The Maldives
As climate rises, this
Instagram influencer's paradise
could end up underwater. Sea
levels are rising in the
Maldives, and they could
become uninhabitable by 2050.

Bordeaux Vineyards, France
As temperatures warm across
the globe, winemakers are
being affected—especially in
the Bordeaux Vineyards. The
Merlot grape is super sensitive
to heat, and they make up 40%
of the grapes grown on these
vineyards. Since 1950, average
temperature in Bordeaux have
risen almost four degrees each
year, endangering wine
production on the historic
vineyards.
