IPresent perfect simple tense is a tense
used to express an action that is in progress
or has just been completed.

Continuous Tense
Present perfect continuous tense is a form of
verb or tense to express an action that has
been completed at a point in the past, or an
action that has started in the past, but these
actions still occur/continue until now.

Use of Sentences
Untuk membuat kalimat dari tenses ini, perhatikan dulu poin penting
berikut:
Have digunakan untuk subject I, you, dan plural subject seperti: plural
pronoun (seperti: they, we), plural noun (seperti: boys, men), dan
compound subject dengan kata hubung “and” (you and I, Masha and
David).

Use of Sentences
Has digunakan untuk singular subject seperti: third person
singular pronoun (seperti: he, she, it) dan singular noun (seperti:
Tony, Cerci, etc).

General concepts
Present perfect continuous tense biasa disebut juga dengan present perfect
progressive tense. Progressive artinya “sedang berlangsung” atau aksi yang sedang
dilakukan.

In General
Secara umum, present perfect continuous tense hanya terjadi
pada bentuk kata kerja dynamic, atau biasa disebut dynamic verb,
karena biasanya hanya dynamic verb yang memiliki bentuk
continuous.

Diference
The present perfect simple tense is generally used to
indicate an activity or action that has been completed.
While the present perfect continuous tense refers to
actions or actions that are being carried out and not
necessarily those activities or actions that have been
completed.

10.1 Read the situations and write two sentences using the
words in brackets.

1. Tom started reading a book two hours ago. He is still reading


it and now he is on page 53.
(read/for two hours) He has been reading for two hours.
(read/53 pages so far) He has read 53 pages so far.
2. Linda is from Australia. She is travelling round Europe at
the moment. She began her tour three months ago.
(travel/for three months) She has been travelling for three
months.

3. Jimmy is a tennis player. He began playing tennis when he
was ten years old. This year he is national champion again--for
the fourth time.
