Practice: Assemble components with joints


Finish the tea kettle assembly and position each
component with joints.

o Assemble components with joints.

Learning objectives:

● Apply an As-Built Joint.


● Apply a Joint.
● Align the angle of a Joint origin.

Tea kettle assembled with joints

1. File > Open > Open from my Computer >


select the Assemble components with
Joints.f3z from the included data set >
Open.

Note: Fusion 360 assembly files (.f3z)


may take a minute to process in the
cloud.

2. Use an As-Built Joint to define the
relative motion between the Wooden
Handle component and the metal
handle.

3. Hide the Tea Kettle Base sub-assembly.


Use a joint to position the Knob
component on the Kettle Lid
component. The center holes should be
aligned.

4. Use a joint to position the Kettle Lid
component on top of the Tea Kettle
Base sub-assembly.

Note: Turn the visibility of the Tea


Kettle Base sub-assembly back on.

5. Align the three vent holes in the


direction of the wooden handle.
