The house is articulated by the big windows which

connect the indoor area with the outdoor one, making
the sunlight an important aspect of the house life.

The three levels are interlinked by a green stair. The

ground floor has been designed with an open kitchen
and living room, lower than the floor level. A small
bathroom complete the floor. The first floor has a
corridor as the main feature of the level. It organises
the two bedrooms and a bathrooom, but also, its
opened design connects the two first levels, letting the
natural light travel throughout the volume. The second
floor, the rooftop, completes the connection between
the house and the surroundings.

The design is focused on the user experience

improvement of the passage along the creek, for the
ones who walk, practice sport or any other activity
in that area. From that point, the proposal includes
an improvement of the paved road, pointing out the
cycle lanes, both down and up, and the pedestrian.
The benches along the walk are replaced by a specific
ones designed for the project, providing authenticity
and identity.

Moreover, this project aims to redesign the disused

esplanade located next to the creek passage and the
industrial estate, followed by another esplanade used
as parking for the neighboors and the workers in the
area, in which no intervention will be made.

space/school yard

The school yard and public space intervention has

been designed from the values of space inclusivity,
accessibility, biodiversity and management and
maintenance. One of the aims of the project is to
create spaces where different activities can converge
or relate. Designing to offer sensorial experiences,
where nature plays a key role, as the architect Juhani
Pallasmaa said, “the profound experiences are action,
not objects”.

Seeking a design that offers autonomy for different

ages, letting the child define his own limits. The
surfaces have been design thinking of actions that
kids are looking for; as slide, climb, swing and
hide. A balance between architecture and nature is
accomplished by using natural materials such as
wood for the structures to play, sand for the sandbox,
grass for the slide area and rocks as objects to play
with. Moreover, recycled rubber for the pavement,
stainless steel for the slide and aluminium for the green
structure, benches and swings are utilised to finalise
the harmony of the space.
