ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

• I would like to express my special thanks of

gratitude to my Physics teacher Mr Vishal
Solanki as well as our principal Ms. Sabina
Sawhney who gave me the golden
opportunity to do this wonderful project on
the topic Water Level Indicator.
Additionally, I want to express my gratitude
to Mr. Bhagwat Singh Rawat, my tutor, for
his invaluable assistance in completing this
project. Despite his busy schedule, he
devoted time and effort to support me,
ensuring the timely completion and
successful operation of this endeavor.

• Buzzer
• 9 volt battery
• 9 volt battery clip
• Some Wires
INTRODUCTION
• This circuit is designed to determine the water
level especially in a water tank.
• As the water level increases from the base of
the tank the number of glowing LEDs increases
subsequently.
• Amount of water present in a tank is easily
measured.
• When the tank is completely filled we get beep
sound from the buzzer.

THEORY
RESISTANCE
The electrical resistance of an electrical conductor is a measure
of difficulty to pass an electric current through the conductor.
The inverse quantity is electrical conductance, the ease with
which an electric current passes.
LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED)
A light emitting diode is two lead semiconductor light source. It
is a pn-junction diode, which emits light when activated. When
suitable voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to
recombine with electron holes within device, releasing energy
in the form of photons.
TRANSISTOR
A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify or switch
electronic signals and electrical power. It is composed of
semiconductor to an external circuit.

ADVANTAGES
• Easily indicates when water level is full
with a beep sound.
• Low maintanence.
• Compact and elegant design.
• Now no need of checking water level
from the roof.
• Ensures no overflows or empty running
of pump.
• Fully automatic, which does not require
human power.
• Electricity consumed is very low.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
The operation of the project is easy to understand.

The project contains some main conditions:

• When there is no water available in the tank.
• Initial level, when water starts to fill,
• When the water is about to overflow.
• When we pour water into the bowl, as it touches
Wire 1 at lower level circuit gets completed and
current starts to flow where the first LED L1 starts to
glow.
• On continuous, addition of water it reaches Wire 2.
• As it reaches Wire 2 the maximum level, buzzer
starts beeping and LED L2 glows.
• This gives us an indication that the water has
reached the maximum level so that, we can stop the
supply of water.
APPLICATIONS
• Water level indicator is used in applications like
storage tanks, boilers to indicate the level of
water.
• Can be used to measure underground storage of
water.
• Used to calculate the incoming and outgoing
water level in reservoirs.
• Fuel level indicator in vehicles.
• Liquid level indicator in huge containers in
companies.

RESULT
• When water starts overflowing the tank the
buzzer sounds to indicate that water is over-
flowing the tank and we need to switch off the
motor pump.
• Although when every pin were make there
ground by filling water then we have to see the
indication L,H &F

PRECAUTIONS
PRECAUTIONS
• Make sure that connections are neat and
clean
• Current must not be directly supplied to
the LED.
