Answer the following three different models of Quiz (2) accurately and in clear steps.

Quiz (2 – A)
Let 𝑽 = 𝑹𝟑 with the Euclidian inner product. Apply Gram – Schmidt algorithm to orthogonalize the basis
𝒖𝟏 = (𝟏, 𝟎, 𝟏) , 𝒖𝟐 = (𝟏, 𝟎, 𝟎) 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒖𝟑 = (𝟐, 𝟏, 𝟎) and then construct orthonormal basis for the inner product
space. (10 Marks)

Quiz (2 – C)
Let 𝑺 = {𝒖𝟏 , 𝒖𝟐 , 𝒖𝟑 } be a set of vectors in 𝑅 3 where, 𝑢1 = (1 , 2 , 3), 𝑢2 = (0 , 1 , 2) and 𝑢3 = (−1 , 0 , 1).
i) Determine whether the vector 𝑣 = (1 , −2 , 2) is a linear combination of the vectors 𝑢1 , 𝑢2 and 𝑢3 .
ii) Show that the set 𝑺 is a spanning set for the vector space 𝑹𝟑 or not.
iii) Show whether the set 𝑺 is basis for 𝑹𝟑 or not.
iv) Calculate ‖𝑢1 − 𝑢2 ‖ v) The angle between 𝑢1 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑢2 . (10 Marks)

Quiz (2 – D)
If 𝑺 = {𝒖𝟏 , 𝒖𝟐 , 𝒖𝟑 } is an orthogonal set of vectors in ℝ3 , where , 𝒖𝟏 = (𝟏 , 𝟏 , 𝟏), 𝒖𝟐 = (𝟐 , 𝟏 , −𝟑) and
𝒖𝟑 = (𝟒 , −𝟓 , 𝟏). Show that;
i) 𝑺 is a spanning set or not in ℝ3 . ii) 𝑺 is basis or not. iii) Construct orthonormal set using 𝑺.
iv) Calculate ‖𝑢1 + 𝑢2 ‖ v) Find the angle between (𝒖𝟏 + 𝒖𝟐 ) 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝒖𝟑 . (10 Marks)
