How Institute blesses me, Spiritually and Socially

As a teenager, after sacrament meetings, I would always want to go home because I have no friends at
church to be with. I don't talk that much, kept hiding from other people, thinking about ‘what if'.

As I grew older, I came to realize that gaining eternal friendships and being at church is a blessing.

My family grew up in a different church so FHE, family prayer, family scripture study are foreign to me.
We love each other but I have always wanted a deeper connection with my family. I am the youngest of
seven children.

In December of 2000, missionaries started teaching my family. I was born a few months after that and in
June 2001, my mother and 5 of my siblings were baptized. One of my brothers chose not to be baptized
and feared man. My family told me stories of persecutions from families and friends as they continued
to live the gospel.

The missionaries and the members in my ward kept fellowshipping my family. They were all very
patient.

Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God! I am very grateful that as a young boy, he was mindful of the
promptings of God. He was persecuted and all, but he remained true to his testimony.

This was the beginning of the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ here on earth. It opened up lots of
revelation for the benefits of us, the children of God.

One of the many blessings is attending the Institute class. What a beautiful opportunity for me to be a
part of. Regardless of my struggles and challenges, this experience is available for me. I am in the
Philippines, yet the Lord is mindful of me no matter what my weaknesses are and no matter what my
race is. He loves everyone the same way. One of my favorite verses is found in the New Testament in
Philippians 4:13,” I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Through the trials I experience, I know that Jesus Christ loves me and is mindful of me. He knows what I
am going through and as I immerse myself in my scriptures and prayers, I’ll find answers and
inspirations.

And because I am learned and taught of these things, I was able to have

 Deeper understanding of my Heavenly Father’s love for me.

 Loving my Savior more and I tend to be like Him daily.

With furthering my spiritual education through Institute Class. I know that I will learn and grow. These
learning experiences will help me achieve my highest self and be like my Savior. Through the support
and help of my family, church friends and leaders, I will continue to grow.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
