Math Subject Enrichment Activity - Grade VI

This is a group activity consisting of a 5 students each group.

TOPIC: - Representation of various shapes used in Geometry

CHAPTER: - Geometrical Shapes

Learning Objective:

 To integrate Art form from Maharashtra and Sikkim with Math.


 To enhance the creativity of children.

Methodology:

 The students need to use various geometrical shapes and forms from the ‘Warli Art Form’
from the state of Maharashtra. Warli Art form from the eastern side of Maharashtra state
utilizes triangles, circles, dots, lines and so on; which are typical shapes used in geometry.
 The students also need to make use of ‘Mandala Art’ which is most commonly used in Sikkim
art and craft especially in Thangka Paintings, carpet weaving and Wood carvings.
 Now combining these two art forms (Warli and Mandala) and using different geometrical
symbols, students need to make ‘show piece’, ‘wall hanging’, ‘poster’, ‘soft board borders’
etc.

NOTE: - 1. Please ensure to use reusable household items to make neat, colorful and bright art
pieces.

2. Making whatsapp group for this project is strictly prohibited.

3. Need to specify individual team member’s exact contribution to the project.
