Svetsaren Vol 58 Tandem MIG MAG Welding
Svetsaren Vol 58 Tandem MIG MAG Welding
By Petter Unosson and Håkan Persson, ESAB AB, Welding Automation, Laxå, Sweden
When speed with quality is desired, an ESAB Tandem station is an option that soon pays back
the investment. The station can be equipped with either Thyristor- or Inverter-technology power
sources to suit different material types and thicknesses.
The Tandem system is much more flexible, because each 0.91 Single
wire is individually connected to a power source and wire 0.68 Tandem
feeder. With two power sources and two wire feeders,

parameters can be set for each wire individually, making it
possible to weld with different wire types and different wire 0.23
diameters, for instance with a combination of a solid wire 0.00
and a metal-cored wire. The choice of consumables can, 34 57 80 102 125 147
