In a small town on the outskirts of Waterdeep lived a young

automatron robot named Talos who wanted to learn. He

wanted to learn how to speak every language in the world and
wanted to be able to analyse and solve problems logically like
his creator, Wesley Smith, whom he idolized.

Wesley, in awe of Talos’s hunger for knowledge, told him the

story of the 8 Pillars of Knowledge. These were made up of the
Logical-Mathematical, Spatial, Linguistic, Kinesthetic,
Intrapersonal, Interpersonal and Naturalistic Pillars.

Wesley told Talos that if he wanted to achieve his goals, he

would need to seek out the Pillars of Logical-Mathematical and
Linguistic across Faerun.

A few years pass and Talos tells Wesley that he has decided to
seek out the Pillars of Knowledge. Wesley, with a proud smile
on his face, hugs Talos and sets him on his way to find the
Pillars.

Talos first heads to the city of Baldur’s Gate and goes to the
School of Arcana to seek out information regarding the
Linguistic Pillar.

Talos meets Juancho Widogast, the head of the school and

asks him about the pillar. Juancho tells him that people who
have touched the Linguistic Pillar gain an aptitude for learning
and using languages. They learn through listening to spoken
word, reading, writing, and discussing and they become
proficient in discussing and explaining in written or spoken
words.

People who have this knowledge take professions such as

poets, lawyers and teachers.

Juancho says that the Pillar is right in the middle of the school
courtyard, but a Pillar only responds to people who are
naturally born with the capacity to inherit the knowledge. Talos,
being a robot who can constantly learn, touches it and inherits
the knowledge.

Amazed, Juancho gives Talos the location of the other Pillar.

The second one is in another School of Arcana in the city of
Neverwinter.

Talos thanks Juancho and gets ready to set out for

Neverwinter.

After a few weeks, Talos arrives at another School of Arcana in

Neverwinter. He meets a sorcerer named Vesryn, who says
that she has received word from Juancho about Talos’s arrival.
She escorts Talos to the Logical-Mathematical Pillar and Talos
reaches out and touches it. The pillar accepts him and Talos
gains the knowledge of the pillar.

Talos asks what knowledge did he inherit from the pillar.

Vesryn says that people who are able to inherit the knowledge
gain the ability to analyze situations or problems logically,
identify solutions, conduct scientific research, and easily solve
logical/mathematical operations. Vesryn says that those who
have this knowledge become accountants, artificers and
etcetera. She reveals that she also inherited the knowledge,
which allowed her to rise through the ranks and become the
Headmaster.

Talos, finally completing his goal for knowledge, heads back

home to Waterdeep where he sees an old Wesley who
welcomes him with open arms. He has completed his
adventure, and has now settled back down in Waterdeep with
his father.

Many winters pass, Talos has gained vast amounts of

knowledge and has grown to be a respected figure in
Waterdeep, teaching young scholars and aspirants the
knowledge he has amassed over the years.
