Eron’s Pasalubong Treats

History/ Background

- Eron’s Pasalubong Treats was founded in October 2012. They started by selling their first product called PIAYA (an
unleavened bread with muscovado filling and known as Bacolod special delicacy) with starting capital of 1,500
pesos. Few months after, they opened their first outlet inside Alkuino Emporium Atrium selling only Piaya and
they offer it hot and fresh. Today, they already have seven delicious pasalubong products to choose from. The
products are delivered to some tourist destination and schools. They continue innovating more products to serve
more customers and tourists that are looking for local pasalubong products in Valencia City.

Mission

- Eron’s Pasalubong Treats is anchored on serving quality pasalubong delicacies that will make every gathering and
homecoming a time for delightful treats.

Vision

- To be at the forefront of product development and innovation in showcasing the finest delicacies that Valencia
City, Bukidnon has to offer to your friends and to your families locally and internationally that also opens an
avenue of employment for the locality.

Discussion

 In manufacturing, the strategies that they employ to optimize production output while maintaining its
quality include looking for or hiring manpower with technical skills to control marketing. They always
ensure that the flow of goods from production to distribution channels is smooth through direct
communication with partner outlets. The owner itself is the one who markets and introduces their
products to different places and to possible wholesalers and retailers. They make sure that the flow is
smooth since their products are in demand, especially in the month of December. When fluctuation
happens, they are able to manage their inventory levels by having accurate management of inventory
during a weak market season. This is because they were able to focus more on calculating the flow of
sales with the amount of time they needed without being busy. They also partnered with DOST to help
them provide high-end technologies and equipment. These high-end technologies and equipment
include a large digital oven and cooker mixer. Also, when it comes to building relationships with their
suppliers, they strengthen their relationship by providing advance payments or by paying them on
time.

Lesson Learned

 I realized that deciding what product to produce while planning to build a business is very challenging.
It is essential to know the target customers first in order to come up with an idea of what products can
be offered. Also, I’ve realized that, as a business owner, you need to prepare yourself to become a
seller, a marketer, a distributor, and an inventory clerk. With this, I have learned a lot after
interviewing the owner of Eron’s Pasalubong Treats company. I am thankful for the information and
knowledge that the owner shares. This information is priceless and necessary for me to help me
succeed in my future plans in life.
