4.1 Permissible dimensional deviations of general dimensions
Table 2 specifies the permissible dimensional deviations of general dimensions (length, width, depth,
etc), Permissible dimensional deviations A apply to the dimension between two surfaces both of
which are machined. Permissible dimensional deviations B apply to the dimension between two
surfaces either of which is not machined.

4.5 Permissible dimensional deviations of edge and corner radii and 45° chanfer dimensions
Table 6 specifies the permissible dimensional deviations of edge and corner radii and 45° chamfer
dimensions.
Since fillets have great effect on strength, they shall also meet the permissible dimensional deviations
‘specified in Fig. 1 in addition to the permissible dimensional deviations specified in Table 6. As a rule,
the shape shown in Fig. 2 is not allowed. Basic dimensions less than 0.3 are not allowed as a rul
however, if such dimensions are unavoidably used, permissible dimensional deviations for each
dimension shall be indicated in the drawing (Ex.: R 0.2 + 0.1)
