musical performance through listening and application of musical knowledge.

● Jackie Evancho’s performance of “Nessun Dorma” from PBS
● Aretha Franklin’s performance of “Nessun Dorma” at the 1998 Grammy
Awards
2. Answer the questions that follow. Write your answers in the space provided.
a. After listening to each performance, do you think the singing style of each
performer differs from each other? How do they differ?
b. Why do you think Aretha Franklin performed “Nessun Dorma” in that
particular musical style? Do you think Aretha Franklin and Jackie Evancho's
respective musical backgrounds affected the style of their rendition of
“Nessun Dorma”? Why or why not?
