PURPOSE:
• To ensure protection & safety of patient & staff.
DEFINITIONS/ABBREVIATIONS:
1. Inventory: An itemized list of articles with the number & value of each
RESPONSIBILITY:
1. FMS Committee:
To monitor the medical equipment management inventory.
2. Biomedical Department:
To implement the medical equipment management inventory.
POLICY:
1. A current inventory of all equipment included in the Medical Equipment Management Plan
will be kept accurate on a continuing basis & shall be recorded within one (1) month of
change, addition or deletion.
2. The responsibility of keeping & maintaining the inventory is that of the Biomedical
Department.
PROCEDURE:
1. The inventory of equipment is located in the office of the Head of Biomedical Department.
2. This inventory is also contained in the Preventative Maintenance file located in the
Biomedical Department office.
3. The equipment inventory must be kept separate from other equipment information &
must be produced as a separate entity.
4. The inventory must include all equipment in the medical equipment management Plan.
