L E S SON 8 ASSIGNMENT
And now that you have spent a few minutes reflecting, it’s time to apply what
you’ve learned in this lesson to your own life.

Here’s what to do:

o Sign your guilt free manifesto
o Sign your name to the guilt free manifesto found in this workbook, then
hang it someplace where you can read it regularly to remind yourself of
the person you want to be.

o Schedule some “me” time

o Find some ways to incorporate downtime into your weekly routine. Go
to a yoga class, take a long hot bubble bath, read a juicy novel, get
your nails done, go for a hike, or do something else just for yourself, just
because you want to. Make self-care a priority so that you are better
equipped to care for those around you.

o Give us feedback!
o Please feel free to email me(at support@ruthsoukup.com) with your ques-
tions and feedback, and let me know which of the strategies in this Tame
Your Time program have been most helpful in helping you take back con-
trol of your time and productivity.

G U I LT F R E E M A N I F E S T O
From this moment forward, I ___________________________________, refuse to choose
between pursuing my big goals and dreams and being a great spouse, parent, or
friend, because I know that being a great person doesn’t require perfection.

I believe that the best way I can serve the people around me is to be passionate
and driven and willing to do hard things, take risks, and go after big dreams.

I choose to stop putting unrealistic expectations on myself for all the things that I
am “supposed” to do, and will instead get clear about my priorities.

I give myself permission to let some things go, and I give myself permission to take
shortcuts, without feeling guilty. I choose to believe that sometimes good enough
is plenty.

I give myself permission to stop comparing myself to the people I see around me,
and to stop paying attention to anything that makes me question my own self-
worth.

I give myself permission to practice self-care so that I can be better for the people
around me. I give myself permission to not be perfect, and I will stop expecting
others around me to be perfect as well.

I understand that there will be moments of frustration in my journey, but I resolve to

keep going, even when things are hard.

I will be a strong, passionate, courageous leader for my children or the other chil-
dren in my life. I will love them like crazy and encourage them to be strong, pas-
sionate, and courageous as well. I will lead by example.

This is the person I want to be, and the person the people closest to me deserve.

This is my Guilt Free Manifesto.
