Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California in 1996.
Their band name also pays homage to a place called Lincoln Park in Santa Monica.
The band’s members include drummer Rob Bourdon, lead guitarist Brad Delson,
bassist Dave Farell, turntablist Joe Hahn, drummer Mike Shinoda, and vocalist
Chester Bennington, who passed away in 2017. Hearty aggressions and hardcore
emotions mingled with hip-hop beats and thrashing power chords created Linkin
Park’s brand of nu-metal and alternative rock rap. Linkin Park created a style all
their own by fusing electronic, punk, metal, and rap influences into songs that
dominated the radio during their peak in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The
group’s songs often address themes of alienation, introversion, and personal
suffering on a heartfelt level. Furthermore, Linkin Park was also declared “The
Biggest Rock Band in the World Right Now” by Kerrang in 2014 and the band is also
known to have been one of the best-selling musicians for merchandising over 100
million records globally in the twenty-first century. The charity that was chosen to
collaborate with Linkin Park is called Music for Relief. This charity organization was
founded by the band Linkin Park itself, in response to the destruction and
casualties affected by an Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004. Thanks to the incredible

artist partners, donors and supporters, Music For Relief responded to numerous
natural disasters across six continents providing immediate relief and funding
long-term recovery with a focus on sustainability throughout its first twelve years
of running. Its mission statement indicates that Music for Relief, a program of the
Entertainment Industry Foundation, is dedicated to providing aid to survivors and
communities affected by natural disasters to help them recover and rebuild.
Founded by the band Linkin Park in 2005, the program aims to support immediate
and long-term disaster relief with a primary goal of making a powerful and
sustainable impact in highly affected areas.
