9.16.6 Checking the compressed-air system pressure controller
The cut-off pressure and the activation period must be
checked by a qualified authorized workshop at
specified intervals.

1244
298549-001

Set values
Cut-off pressure 9.5 ± 0.2 bar
Activation period 0.9 + 0.7 bar
153167-005
9.16.7 Checking the compressed-air system safety valve
The safety valve (1) prevents excessive pressure in
the compressed-air system.
Check the safety valve once a year before starting the
harvest.
5114-003

WARNING
A malfunction occurs.
Can cause death or serious injuries.
► Remove dirt from the valve at regular intervals
1245
298545-001 and prior to each check.

1543-003

CAUTION
Compressed air and/or water escapes.
May cause medium-grade injuries.
► Wear protective gloves and safety goggles.
► Keep a distance from the hazard point.

► Top up compressed-air system to 80 ‑ 90 %.

► Turn the knurled screw (2) anti-clockwise for
some turns.
Air escapes from the safety valve (1).

► Quickly turn the knurled screw (2) clockwise up to

the stop.

9.16.8 Checking the fire extinguishers

112858-007

WARNING
If fire extinguishers are not ready for use, fires can
spread, causing serious injury and material damage.
► Have the fire extinguishers checked by a qualified
authorised workshop when the specified
inspection interval is reached.
► Replace used or damaged fire extinguishers
immediately.
1246
169050-001

The inspection intervals and the number of fire

extinguishers can vary from country to country. In this
regard, the instructions on the fire extinguisher are
valid for the relevant country.
► Every two years, check the fire extinguishers for
operational readiness.
Note the manufacture date or the final inspection
date on the fire extinguisher.

10.1 General information
120770-014
10.1.1 Putting out of operation and disposal
When the machine (or its components) reaches the
end of its useful life and is surrendered as scrap, the
components must be disposed of in the correct
manner. The regulations of the local authorities
responsible must be observed.
The operating materials in the machine require special
disposal and must not be released into the
environment. Further information regarding disposal is
available from the local authority in charge, a qualified
specialist workshop or the CLAAS Service
Department.

► Do not dispose of products marked with the

symbol (1) in your domestic waste at the end of
their service life.

1247
124657-002

► Recycle used materials marked with the

symbol (2) in accordance with their labelling.

1248
124658-002

► Recycle packaging material, do not dispose of it in

domestic waste.
► Recycle plastics that are labelled with material
information, e.g. PP TV 20 and do not dispose of
them in domestic waste.
► Used batteries contain hazardous substances and
must be taken back by the distributor, disposed of
correctly or delivered to a collection point. Do not
dispose of used batteries in domestic waste.

10 Putting out of operation and disposal
10.1 General information
681-010

► Operating materials, such as oils, hydraulic fluids,

brake fluids or fuels, must be treated as
hazardous waste and disposed of correctly. When
draining liquids, always use leak-proof containers.
Do not allow operating materials to flow into the
ground, the drain or into any water sources.
► Have refrigerants disposed of only by specialist
companies with experienced personnel and the
necessary technical equipment. Refrigerants must
never be released into the atmosphere. Have
refrigerants disposed of by a qualified specialist
workshop.Observe country-specific regulations.
► Follow the regulations of the local authorities
responsible.
