RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

work and daily living.

PHYSICAL RECREATION - people exert
efforts and bodily functions in performing the
action.
MENTAL RECREATION - the mind is doing
the functions with less body movement.
CLASSIFICATION OF RECREATIONAL
ACTIVITIES
1. SPECTATOR TYPE - people spend
their time watching the event and derive
enjoyment from it.
2. PARTICIPANT TYPE - people who
participate in an activity.
TYPES OF RECREATION
A. PASSIVE TYPE - people have no
excessive movement in performing the
task or action.
B. ACTIVE TYPE - people have to function
effectively in performing the action.
RECREATION
- an activity of leisure, which is an essential
element of human biology and psychology.
- refers to the time spent in an activity one
loves to engage in, with an intent to feel
refreshed.
- a break from monotony and a diversion from
daily routine.
- source of joy and provide relaxation for one’s
mind and body.
TWO GROUPS OF RECREATIONAL
ACTIVITIES
A. INDOOR ACTIVITIES - undertaken in
the comfort of one's home or more
specifically indoor and they are to
recreate the mind and soul.
B. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES - provide us
the means to exercise and hence to be
one of the best forms of recreation.
