Hello, middle schoolers! Today, we're going to talk about AI, aka Artificial Intelligence.

What makes a
robot artificially intelligent, positive and negative aspects of it, and why it’s such a moot point nowadays.
At first Presentation

Its can spring you, but AI is much closer than you think. I will give you some examples that you may see
in your day-to-day life

Lets immerse ourselves deeper in general concepts of AI. What does an AI do at its core and What
makes the robot artificially intelligent

Lets place a robot in a field, despite changes in lighting, landscape, and field size, it should perform as
expected. This skill to respond suitably to a novel circumstance is known as adaptation.

The robot is now at a crossroad. One that is paved and the other rocky. The robot must determine which
path to take based on circumstances. This portrays the robot’s reasoning ability.

As the robot continues its journey, it comes across a stream that it cannot swim across. However, with
the help of a plank, the robot successfully overcomes this obstacle. This exemplifies problem-solving as
the robot uses the given input to find a solution. These three abilities combined make the robot
artificially intelligent.

Ok, the next step is to find out how it works

AI is a general term that includes all other concepts. To simplify, AI can be represented as a matryoshka
doll. The biggest doll is the concept of AI in general, the next doll is machine learning, the second is
everyone's favorite neural networks, and inside them, another one is deep learning. Ok let’s find out
how whole this system works.

Try to remember how you learned to read. Only by knowing the алфабет and reading by силаблс you
read simple books, but over time, the complexity increased. In fact, you have not consciously learned
the basic rules of spelling and grammar, in other words, you have processed a lot of data and learned
from it. Transferring this approach to AI, it becomes clear that machine learning is an imitation of how a
person learns. It is implemented simply. It is only necessary to write algorithms that will be able to self-
learn the classification and evaluation of data, to choose the most appropriate solutions. Give it a large
amount of information and It’s done.

A neural network is a type of machine learning that is made up of interconnected units (like neurons in
your brain) that process information by responding to external inputs, relaying information between
each unit. The process requires multiple passes at the data to find connections and derive meaning from
undefined data. The picture shows that there are three main layers. Data enters the network on the first
layer, is processed on the second, and is output in the desired form on the output layer

Deep learning is an approach in machine learning in which computer algorithms learn to solve problems
that process large amounts of information

Lets take an example of a student who studied mathematics. If he had a new topic, then he had
questions and misunderstandings. He may ask the teacher to explain the topic to him several times in
order to understand it better. After that, the student can take on many skills to consolidate knowledge
and learn how to apply it in different practices

Similarly, scrutiny uses algorithms that go through a variety of factors to learn the features of the data
and the solution. These algorithms allow you to repeat the learning process many times to improve the
results.
Ok, now when we have some basic knowledge about AI let’s talk about the pros and cons and why it is
such a moot point nowadays. First are advantages.

Reduction in Human Error. The phrase “human error” was born because humans make mistakes from
time to time. Computers, however, do not make them if they are programmed properly. With Artificial
intelligence, the decisions are taken from the previously gathered information applying a certain set of
algorithms. So errors are reduced and the chance of reaching accuracy with a greater degree of
precision is a possibility.

Takes risks instead of Humans. This is one of the biggest advantages of Artificial intelligence. We can
overcome many risky limitations of humans by developing an AI Robot which in turn can do the risky
things for us. Let it be going to mars, defuse a bomb, explore the deepest parts of oceans, mining for
coal and oil, it can be used effectively in any kind of natural or man-made disasters.

Helping in Repetitive Jobs/ In our day-to-day work, we will be performing many repetitive works like
sending a thanking mail, verifying certain documents for errors and many more things. Using artificial
intelligence we can productively automate these monotonuos tasks and can even remove “boring” tasks
for humans and free them up to be increasingly creative.

New inventions/ In practically every field, AI is the driving force behind numerous innovations that will
aid humans in resolving the majority of challenging issues.

Digital Assistance/Daily applications such as Apple’s Siri, Window’s Cortana, Google’s OK Google are
frequently used in our daily routine whether it is for searching a location, taking a selfie, making a phone
call, replying to a mail and many more. The ever-popular and flourishing example is Chat GPT-digital
assistant designed to help users generate text, answer questions, and engage in conversation on a
variety of topics. It is a gamechanger in this area and who knows where it will lead.

Ok now let’s move to another side of the coin.

Unemployment/As AI is replacing many manners of peoplerepetitive tasks and other works with
robots, human интерфиренс is becoming less which will cause a major problem in the employment
standards. Every organization is looking to replace the minimum qualified individuals with AI robots
which can do similar work with more efficiency.

Impersonal/Since AI is programmed to be logical and make decisions based on data and algorithms, it
may not be able to understand or respond to emotions in the way that humans can. This can make AI
interactions feel impersonal and disconnected, which can be frustrating or even harmful in certain
situations. So we will not soon see a person at the reception of a robot psychologist

No ethics/ One of the biggest ethical problems with AI is the potential for bias and discrimination. This
can occur in many ways, such as when biased data is used to train an AI model, or when an AI system
perpetuates or strengthen existing social bases.

Laziness and cheating/ AI applications automate the majority of tedious and repetitive tasks. Since we
do not have to memorize things or solve puzzles to get the job done, we tend to use our brains less and
less. This addiction to AI can cause problems for future generations. Already now some schools and even
countries put restrictions on the use of chat GPT, and many people are also wary of its prospects. Here
is a quote related to this topic

And the last very interesting point Threat to humanity/, there have always been potential risks
associated with the development of AI. For example, AI could be misused or weaponized to cause harm,
such as in cyberattacks or autonomous weapons. Additionally, There is the risk that AI could become
uncontrollable or overcomes human intelligence, leading to unintended consequences or even
existential risks. Leading figures in the field of AI technology, including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak,
are suggesting stunting the development of AI technologies until strong security protocols are
implemented.diff

It's important to note that these risks are not inevitable and can be reduced through responsible
development and deployment of AI, as well as through ethical and regulatory frameworks. Moreover It's
vital to cognizant that AI is not inherently good or bad, but rather a tool that can be used for both
positive and negative purposes.

We are almost done, in the end, I want to ask you a couple of questions that you can contemplate
about
