Q2 Lesson Plan Project

Lesson Goals or Learning Targets (Word these as measurable student outcomes.)

The lesson goal is that the student(s) will be able to shoot better and be more efficient from
deep shooting.

Lesson Objectives or Success Criteria (Word these as student actions, use verbs.)

Each kid will have a certain number of shots (10). I will keep track of how much they make
before and after the lesson to show the results and if they worked.

CSTP Rationale (Describe the ways your lesson aligns with the six California Standards for the
Teaching Profession)

CSTP 1 Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning- Each student will be given
the option to show their normal levels, and their improvement levels, which will engage
the students to want to beat their previous score.

CSTP 2 Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments for Student Learning- I will
set the students up in ways for them to never be bored and always want to stay
attentive.

CSTP 3 Understanding and Organizing Subject Matter for Student Learning- This
lesson focuses on the improvement of the students and following criteria.

CSTP 4 Planning Instruction and Designing Learning Experiences for All Students- All
students will have an opportunity to do bad, and good, overall we just want
improvement.
CSTP 5 Assessing Students for Learning- At the beginning I will be assessing
everyone’s skill level and where they are.
CSTP 6 Developing as a Professional Educator- I will be making sure everyone is on
task and doing the correct things.

Lesson Plan Content (Written narrative paragraph about the lesson content.)

I will take 3 students at a time, they will each start by shooting 10 shots from top of the key.
After that I will show them proper form and how to use their legs for better movement. After
that they will shoot another 10 shots from the top of the key. Their scores should improve by
at least 2 or 3 more makes.

Instructional Procedures

• Focusing Event (Describe how you will get students to focus attention on your teaching.)

Using a game like shooting and keeping track, will keep the students engaged
because they will want to beat their previous score and beat each other.

• Instructional Strategies (Click into that link for help describing all instructional methods you will
employ during the lesson. Remember, instructional strategies fall into one or more of the following
broad categories: DIRECT, INDIRECT, EXPERIENTIAL, INTERACTIVE, INDEPENDENT
STUDY)

I will be using experimental learning strategies.

• Student Participation (How will you engage students and get them on board to participate?)

I will be giving the winner, with the highest made baskets, a piece of candy.

• Formative Check (How will you check that all students are involved and engaged in the lesson?

I will be there looking over the students and their will not be a bunch of students going
at once.
• Closure (How will you end the lesson purposefully, with intentionality?)

I will get everyone’s score, gather them all around, and gift the winner a piece
of candy.

• Assessment (How will you assess that students achieved the lesson goals or learning targets?)

I will be keeping track of baskets made from the first set of shots and the
second set of shots.

Lesson Plan Materials (Include everything needed to successfully complete the lesson with
the full class. Remember to include all supplies, as well as technology, whiteboard space,
classroom space, etc.)
A basketball, The gym, and a piece of candy.
