The faculty and staff at Northern Utah Academy for Math, Engineering, & Science (NU AMES)
are pleased to award Rico Torres with the 2022-2023 Student of the Term Certificate.

This award is a high honor for NU AMES students. NU AMES teachers & staff nominate students
who personify outstanding qualities which exemplify the NUAMES Mission. These students arc
citizens in the NU AMES community who communicate with teachers, lend a helping hand to
fellow classmates, build relationships with administration, faculty, and staff, as well as develop a
work ethic which goes above and beyond the curriculwn and expectations. We are proud to
acknowledge these students each term and reward them for their positive attention in making the
Early College experience a personal success. NUAMES is proud of the outstanding efforts
students demonstrate in going above and beyond traditional expectations. Rico demonstrates
excellent academic and social behavior in accordance with this standard.

Connie Perry, Rico's US History Teacher writes: "I normally save my Student of the Term nominee
for seniors, but I am so proud of the work ethic that I see coming from Rico Torres. For the last two
quarters in U.S. History, he has achieved a 100%. He consistently aces my test and turns in every
assignment on time. Rico also makes 100% on all his map quizzes and just makes me feel good about
being a teacher. I love his thoughtful comments and questions in class and is just a pleasant student all
•the way around. He is definitely an example to his peers on what hard work and discipline can be. I am
very happy to give Student of the Term to Rico Torres."

NU AMES is pleased to award Rico with the Student of the Tenn Award for his spectacular and
exemplary achievements. As NUAMES faculty and staff continue to provide a rigorous and
supportive early college experience through teaching excellence, a focus on STEM education, a
small school environment, and a university partnership, Rico is preparing well to achieve greater
academic and life goals.
