BENCH CHEER GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA

1. This competition is open to all grade levels of DSSF.

2. Each grade level must have 1 group with a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 50
participants.
3. Th3 contest piece must be at least 3 minutes or a maximum of 5 minutes. 1 point
deduction per 10 seconds excess from the given time limit.
4. Bench cheer is limited only to sitting and standing. No switching of place among
participants.
5. No hazardous props shall be used on the piece (e.g., water, fire, and any sharp
objects).
6. Party poppers/confetti are allowed to be used provided that the team/group shall be
responsible in cleaning the mess.
7. Music can be live or canned or both live and canned.
8. Yells/cheers must not contain foul words/provocative intent. The violation of this
rule will result to disqualification.
9. The judging of the piece is under the following criteria:

CREATIVITY - 20%
COSTUME AND PROPS - 10%
CLARITY OF VOICE - 20%
MASTERY AND SYNCHRONIZATION - 25%
OVERALL PRESENTATION - 25%

10. The following sequence of entries are as follows:

Entry No. 1 - Grade 7

Entry No. 2 - Grade 9
Entry No. 3 - Grade 8
Entry No. 4 - Grade 12
Entry No. 5 - Grade 10
Entry No. 6 - Grade 11
Entry No. 7 - Mabini Extension

11. The music material of the participating grade level must be submitted to the music
in-charge on or before November 7, 2023, on or before 3:00 PM only.
