STORY 1: LORMA EMPLOYEES ATTAIN

SPORTSMANSHIP AND CAMARADERIE

R1: A celebration of unity was held last June 24, 2023 at the La

Mer Beach Resort. The one-day Team Building Event enabled

employees to develop their team spirit and harmonious

relationship through group games, sports and videoke

competitions, and the highlight of the event, the Search for Mr.

& Ms. LORMA 2023.

The Medical & Linen and Laundry, Engineering, General

Services or LEGS, Nursing, Ancillary, and Administration

department showed their own culture of teamwork which

marked the event with loud cheers and laughter.

R3: The winners from different categories who were awarded

with trophies and cash prices are the following:

 Amazing Race winner: Team Blue (Nursing)


 Obstacle Course winner: Team Red (Admin)
 Cheering Competition winner: Team Green (The Medical & Linen and
Laundry, Engineering, General Services)
 Videoke winners:
o Duet and Trio Category: Team Grey (Ancillary)
 Sports competition:
o Champion for Table Tennis Doubles and Volleyball mix: Team
Grey (Ancillary)
o Champion for Badminton Doubles: Team Blue (Nursing)

Congratulations to all the winners! Indeed, the presence of

camaraderie and teamwork was strengthened among employees

outside the workplace. This proves that when Lorma unites,

Lorma thrives!

STORY 2: MEDICAL DOCTORS CELEBRATE AND SPUR

FURTHER PROGRESS

R2: A corporate dinner was held for the Doctors and the

Executive Committee Last June 21. It was a time to

comprehensively discuss Lorma Medical Center’s contribution

to healthcare through careful implementation and monitoring of

the Lorma Cancer Institute project.

Dr. Raymond Espinosa, Asst. Medical Director for Staff

Development and Training and Chief of Clinics, gave his

opening remarks followed by the message of President and

Administrator, Mr. Robert Kaiser. The highlight of the event

was the Open Forum facilitated by Dr. Richard Cacho, Assistant


Medical Director for Ancillary Services, which addressed

numerous concerns. The event concluded with the words of

wisdom and encouragement of the Medical Director, Dr. Mario

T. Baustita.

Lorma Medical Center continues its mission to provide

Remarkable Services and Exceptional Care, as the new era in

Cancer diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation begins!

STORY 3: LORMA MEDICAL CENTER ILLUMINATES

TEAL FOR CERVICAL CANCER ELIMINATION

R3: Employees from different departments expressed their

support for the Elimination of Cervical Cancer last June 9 by

joining the Light Hour event entitled “Women bloom in

SolidariTeal” initiated by Merck Sharp & Dohme or MSD

Philippines along with Mt. Grace Hospitals Inc. and other

partner hospitals. The North lobby was illuminated with teal to

advocate for life-saving tools and treatment options available

and accessible for Cervical Cancer patients.

This reaffirms Lorma Medical Center’s commitment to

curtailing Cervical Cancer.


STORY 4: DENGUE PREVENTION, ACHIEVED

THROUGH COLLECTIVE ACTION

R2: Lorma Medical Center together with the City Health Office

celebrated Dengue Awareness Month at Barangay Poro, City of

San Fernando, La Union last June 21.

The campaign began with an interactive Lecture on Dengue led

by Dr. Marvin Lazona followed by the Health Assessment

administered by LMC nurses and the CHO, and the free

Consultation facilitated by the Internal and Family Medicine

Doctors. Medicines and multivitamins for children were

distributed to prevent viral infections.


A Clean-up drive was also conducted in the afternoon to

encourage a sustainable cleaning in the community by

eliminating possible breeding sites of vectors in the coastal area

and alleyway houses.

Lorma Medical Center stays committed to service in the

community. Today's prevention equals a healthier tomorrow!

STORY 5: LMC REINFORCES EMPLOYEE SAFETY

TRAINING

R3: A safety training for newly-hired employees was held last

June 29 at the Rufino Hall to minimize or eliminate workplace

hazards. The orientation of Basic Occupational Safety and

Health was facilitated by Safety Officer, Mr. Maurice Atienza

and Deputy Incident Commander, Mr. Herman Marbella. A total

of 43 employees attended the training.

Lorma Medical Center commits to accident prevention to

continuously increase the record of days without an accident.


As of today, our safety scoreboard displays 1309 Days without a

lost time injury.

STORY 6: SOLIDARITY PREVAILS AT THE MOBILE

BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN

R1: In celebration of World Blood Donor Day, the LMC

Laboratory Team assisted in the launching of the PHO’s Mobile

Blood Donation campaign held last June 14 at the Lorma

Colleges Library. The campaign aimed to embody La union

probinsyanihan by building a culture of voluntary blood

donation in the community. Employees and College students


donated blood which serve as a powerful lifesaving gift to those

in need.

STORY 7: THE KIDNEY TRANSPLANT INSTTITUTE

PRODUCES CHAMPIONS FOR KIDNEY HEALTH

R2: The LMC Kidney Transplant Institute joins in the

celebration of the Kidney Awareness Month last June 27-28

with the theme “Bato’y Alagaan, Para Handa sa Kinabukasan”.

The event launched a 2-Day Bazaar last June 27 at the Lorma


Parking Lot and a program for Dialysis patients, watchers and

Lorma Colleges Nursing students who underwent a Lecture on

Nutrition facilitated by Ms. Roxan Tindaan and a Symposium on

Kidney Transplant led by Dr. Mary Judith Ragaza-Javier.

Lorma Medical Center remains dedicated to its mission of

promoting a healthy mind, healthy body and a healthy life.

STORY 1: LORMA STRIVES AND SHINES AT 89

R3: In other news, Lorma Employees participated in the

Philippine Air Force’s 76th Pre-Anniversary Family Color Fun


Run dubbed as “Paint the Skies with Airmen” last June 25, 2023

at Baywalk, Port Point, City of San Fernando, La Union to show

an unwavering support to Cancer Patients in the community. A

bucketful of different brightly coloured powder was thrown to

the runners for a fun experience.

Ms. Katherine Valdez from the Radiology Department was the

Second Finisher in the 5km Run for female category.

Lorma Medical Center stands together with the community in

attaining its noble objectives for the people!
