Every year, in late March, people and institutions come together to switch off all non-
essential lights for sixty minutes at 8.30 p.m. local time. They do this to show their
support for the fight against the climate crisis and loss of biodiversity. By switching off
their lights and measuring the reduction in the amount of energy that is being used,

You decide to write a message to a friend who is interested in this topic to tell him/her about what
you have read.

You must write about the following points:


 Explain, in your own words, the information you have read.
 Highlight the most important aspects of the article.

Write between 60 and 80 words.

TASK 3: PRODUCTION …… /12,5 points


You have approximately 45 minutes to complete this task.
You decide to write an opinion essay about this issue for the comments sections of a local
newspaper in your city.

You must write about the following points:


- Explain the advantages and disadvantages of being environmentally friendly.
- Express your opinion about the issue and a prediction for the future.
Write between 150 and 180 words.

 You must write about all the points included in tasks 2 and 3.
 You must respect the word limit for each task.
 Check the number of words of each task and write them on the exam paper.
